Wrex seems to strongly suggest that he knows that Liara's the Shadow Broker.

The way that he seems to tease her about it suggests to me that they've been in contact with each other since her big promotion.

I can understand that Wrex would want to play his inside-source card close to the chest. I'm not sure how Padok/Mordin made contact with Wrex and covered their tracks so well that the Shadow Broker wouldn't catch some info in the handshaking part of the communication ... unless she had a hand in helping them making secure contact and stepped out of the picture once that was done.

Wrex's teasing and Liara's response to it makes me wonder if they both are giving secret nods to each other in regards to Wrex getting an inside source ... as if he knew that she was aware of the communications and either expected her to listen or suspected that she listened in on the comm traffic and didn't say anything.

She responds that [she] was busy.

Remember: Wrex says that the Salarians are listening to everything they say during the conversation. They couldn't talk openly about Liara's involvement in anything, whatever that might have been.

Okay. Let's punch some holes in that theory, now.
