Try not to go into story details.  What I mean to ask is like... Do you think she'll be in future Dragon Age games?  And in what capacity?  Full companion?  Supporting NPC (like Flemeth's role in DA 2)?  Antagonist?  The devs have said that the Warden is gone forever, at least as a playable character (and probably just gone forever in every way, period).

She'll probably be a NPC that remains in the game for some time. Flemeth is probably coming back with a bigger role too. We saw a drawing of Morrigan in The Seeker Book near the end of DA2 so it stands to reason that she's returning and could possibly be tied up the plot of DA3.

We still don't know what she was doing with that mirror but I'd imagine that there's something big behind it.

Since the big choice at the end of DA:O was not chosen by everyone, I'm pretty sure that won't come back in any major way (even though I'd be interested to find out). However the mirror thing seems to play a moderately important role. She was always an interesting character though, and hopefully does come back (and Leliana and Shale too, don't care about any other origins chars really. ).

I just hope we won't find her hut in a forest -- like Flemeth -- and the Warden buried in the backyard, or something equally terrible.

I just thought it was a little bizarre that such a popular and seemingly important character was left out of the sequel. Then again, I guess DA 2 wasn't supposed to be DA: Origins 2.

Maybe it's for the best, though.  I hated DA II's "art style" change.

I didn't mind the art style change. I preferred origins but it wasn't my major concern with the game. The sexed up flemeth really bothered me though.:P

I was bothered by the weird Flemeth as well.

But on-topic. If the next game is in Orlais, it would be criminal for her not to appear in it, considering that if you reject her, it's reported that a woman matching Morrigan's description became an advisor in the Empress' court.

I think everyone remember what Flemeth mention Morrigan in DA:2?

Yes, I remember. Flemeth mentioned her name in passing. In one line. It's less than Alistair and Leliana got.

Well, if she does come back, I'll be sure to let Flemeth know exactly where she is. Then I'll cheer as Flemeth turns her into a little crispy chunk of dragon kibble.

It will be glorious.

One scenerio I always fancied about is Morrigan and Flemeth both appear as NPC in DA3 but have conflicts with each other. They both have a unique quest line for the player and the player can side with either Morrigan or Flemeth, kinda like how the witcher 2 handled Roache and Iorveth.

Well in some epilogues it implied that Morrigan went to Orlais and somehow got high up in Orlesian society/government as a court advisor or something like that.

It was presented in the epilogue as just a rumor though and I think Witch Hunt has changed that around.

Yeah they said they are treating the epilogue slides as simply heresay and rumor. So they can change whatever they like about them. I wouldn't think much of them anymore.

Hmph. Cheers, I never knew she appeared in the book. Seems like she was going to be involved in some kind of planned DA2 DLC. If I ever play DA2 again I'll be sure to look out for it. I dont like the look of that huge piece of "armor" sticking out of her shoulder though. Looks like she strapped a huge seashell to her shoulder..

A cameo, and a passing reference or two. Let the past stay in the past.

If I had my way, she wouldn't show up at all. I liked her as a companion to the Warden, but I'm starting to get really sick of her.

To me she's the best character to appear in the DA franchise, well most of characters from Origins were amazing, shame we had such a terrible cast in DA2.

A brief mention by Flemeth.

I think Morrigan and Flemeth are two of the most important NPC's in Thedas.  Why?  They're characters of mystery that were introduced early in the first game (pretty much right at the end of "Act I") and whose roles aren't finished.  Flemeth is always up to something, and Morrigan seems to be working against her for now. It's possible Morrigan will be a companion again, but I doubt it.  I figure she's just be an NPC like Flemeth.

Another reason to think Morrigan and Flemeth are major characters for the duration of the series are Flemeth's (and probably Morrigan's) connection to dragons an the franchise being called "Dragon Age".

I think she will be a boss in one of the future games. Playing a role similar to Matriarch Benezia for Saren(who's role will probably be played by her son).

It might revel around recreating old faith of Dragons, that Tevinter had before they tried to usurp Golden City.

I believe that Morrigan will play a large part in the Golden City plotline, but I think she will die before anything is revealed about it.

Somewhat spoilish reply below:

She actually gets mentioned twice. First time by Flemeth outside Lothering, when speaking to Hawke (depending on what dialogue choice you make though I don't think she's mentioned by name).  Second time is when you complete her quest on Sundermount--this time by name, and if you ask her who Morrigan is, she elaborates with a third line, so technically 3 lines are spoken about her.

As to her eventual future, I am sure she will play one in Dragon Age's sequels.  Obviously, not all Morrigan fates will be the same since she has different things happen to her in Origins, and I couldn't begin to speculate WHAT will happen--esp in a no-spoilers section of the boards, but I don't think Bioware is done with her story yet, (or Flemeth's) not by a long shot.
