something is wrong somewhere, I had read on these forums that deleting the character from this site would clear the problem since it had to then re-sync with the server.

so I did that - it all worked perfectly, I installed 1.02 - now only one of my three chars show, the other two just won't upload!

You do realize that most of us are pissed over PC being patched ahead of us so they dont have any of our problems?

This is just stupid bull from EA

It seems to be real touchy with what works, Ones that are already made I think you are stuck, as for new ones I'm not happy with the elf I just made, but it uploaded right, so I'm going to try again doing it over the same way.

Some things being done, look at your persona page, new heading, profile diagnostics. It doesn't work yet but still.

Yes, I believe they are trying to fix it, or at least find out what the problem is, and it's greatly appreciated. :)

I am pretty sure you have to make your character online (live connect), out of the three that worked for me, they where done connected to EA servers.

Actually, most of us are not.  Onyl drama queens that speak before they know what they are talking about.  This has been addressed several times on other threads.  The PC patch fixed things that weren't broken in the console versions.  Read the patch notes.  The patch brings them up to the same place the console already was.  NOW they are dealing with console issues.

Well, not to sound like a jerk but I'm glad I'm not the only one having problems. I couldn't figure out why my character portraits won't show up and it keeps timing out on me. I somehow got this character portrait, but it's under Dragon Age: Origins (PC) .... I don't HAVE it on PC... Can I get a WTF? :bandit:

So we have to deal with the same gamebreakers that PC just got fixed while they make stupid additions to the forums that are more than useless. I sure know they have better things to do and guess what, you want them to not do them since you condone this ****ing bull**** that comes from repeatedly making more useless **** and DLC when they have problems with Shale not working properly at all and the core game having a whole slew of problems.

It's not really a huge deal to me since the game still plays fine and I'm having a blast playing it, but it is a little frustrating that after 30 hours of game play over two weeks, my portrait still is blank.

Try deleting your character off the social site.  The next time you play data on your "new" character should be uploaded.

This worked for me when I had a broken image as a portrait.

It was a nice idea, but terribly implimented. According to the manual, character updates

are supposed to be automatic, yet despite major events ingame, no update to my characters

for 3 days. Interestingly, the only portrait that doesn't show, is the one with the changed

background. The default background portraits all show up. Irrelevent, however, when the

characters don't update.

Unimportant to me, as the game works fine, so far. :) Leave it to EA to screw things up.

The little fix doesn't fix you problem, it just tells you there's a problem. Gee whiz I thought I was playing as Hollow Man, yes just as bad as Kevin Bacon.

Yes, I imagine that would have to be the case.  And it looks like they've made some progress because my latest character that I've been playing with has all of her portraits and is up to date as far as progress is concerned. Thanks to Bioware for working on this. :D

Please use the profile diagnostics page to determine if your game is actually *uploading* the portrait - there's nothing this website can do if your game isn't managing to send the data.

I looked around in my profile but couldn't find the profile diagnostics page. Where do I look?

I managed to get my stuff to upload frequently again by following these steps:

-Disable online upload in menu

-Load saved game

-Make a new save

-Enable online upload in menu*

-Load saved game

-Make new save

-Log out of EA account*

-Log back into EA account*

* Means you have to be in the main menu

After that, a couple hours later it should update.

To SkaTeeB

Select My Games -> Dragon Age Origins Xbox 360 It should be in the upper left corner as a button that says profile diagnostics. Though I have noticed occasionaly that button doesn't display. Just look again later if it doesn't.

On topic:

When I run the profile diagnostics I see that three of my characters with display issues Indicate that Avatar and Portrait data isn't being uploaded, yet the char xml and story xml are.

So the game is sending some data, but not all. Is this an issue with the console/game not sending the data correctly or the repository that's recieving the data having issues or both?

Is there a mechanisim to 'force' and upload/update of avatar/portrait data? or should that be occuring all the time as long as your able to get connected when play? Just looking for ways to help or test or work around the issue.

My newest character actually did upload the portraits but my others didn't.
What triggers the game to stop uploading portraits?

The only thing I can think of is that I never played the dwarf noble origin before until yesterday.
All characters I have without portraits have origins i've played more than once.

Could it be that if you play an origin more than once the portraits stop uploading?
