Just wanted to share some of my fan art, older wok consists of some of the unseen reaper variants that would be found in the Mass Effect universe. The initial inspiration to do this was from talking to the Elcor Ambassador in single player and seeing the official concept art by Matt Rhodes (at least I think it was Matt's) Also when I'm not painting I'm usually playing multiplayer so feel free to add me on xbox, gamertag: dunechampion. Coming Soon: Mass Age

There was only ever one person for my Shepard, and that person
was Kaidan Alenko. Getting to watch these two awkward dopes slowly
build a relationship over the course of the trilogy was a personal
highlight for me as a gaymer who just wanted to have the same fun
everyone else was having in this incredible universe.
And as I prepare to take these two on their final adventure with tomorrow’s Citadel DLC I
just want to say thank you so much Bioware, from the bottom of my sappy
heart.

Completed Dragon Effect!

Joker and the Normandy as high dragon and rider.

Kasumi and Zaeed as roadside bandits.
EDI and Legion as golems

first enchanter Liara Knight Commander Samara

Shepard would run into these two while they’re on an expedition in
the deep roads (as to what they’re searching for/studying I’m not
exactly sure but you can be sure it’s important work).
Mordin- he carries ancient deep roads maps with him to help navigate
the expansive undrground tunnels and wields a variety of potent
explosive mixtures to ward off darkspawn hordes.
Tali- Tali would be sort of an expert on Darkspawn behavior
patterns/fighting abilities and therefore is accompanying Mordin on his
mission and does most of the close range fighting with her dual-hooked
swords.

Garrus and Thane, Dragon Effect didn’t ref any particular DA characters for these two.
The storyline I’m thinking for Garrus is that turians are a regularly
integrated part of society and as with Mass Effect where they make up
the bulk of C-sec they often fulfill the role of town guards and in
Garrus’ case he’s risen to become a captain in a wealthy trading town,
hence his somewhat ostentatious get-up. He’d be a melee/ranged fighter.
For
Thane I’d see him as belonging to a small almost forgotten order with
the purpose of finding and eliminating wild dragons or wyrms. That’s
why he’s wearing a light dragon scale outfit and the glowing stone set
into his chestpiece is a gem that embues him with added marksmanship
powers.

Wrex and Grunt Dragon Effect Mercs
Imagining the Krogan as sort of a subsidiary race to the Qunari.
Lesser in number and therefore mostly serving as hired mercs instead of
having an actual system of government.
Grunt- referenced Sebastian Vael’s armor a bit for Grunt’s look,
wanted him to come across as more of a good natured young Krogan who is
trying to distance himself from the violent nature of his race. Maybe
Shepard would run into him while he’s out on a soul searching pilgrimage
or something.
Wrex- By contrast I wanted Wrex to look like he’s totally embracing
his badass nature and I’m imaging him as leader of a wondering band of
pillaging Krogan mercs before deciding to aid Shepard. (maybe a
renegade Shep gets Wrex while a paragon gets Grunt).
And yes I realize I kinda switched their personalities but oh well.

For Miranda I basically took Morrigan’s look and tweaked it a bit, added
cerberus insignia and am imagining cerberus as a kind of rogue apostate
organization that Miranda would be involved with.
And Jack’s
just a crazy ass elven blood mage. Wasn’t really referencing any
particular character for her so kinda just made her mass effect outfit
more mage-like. Also I didn’t distort her face like the elves in Dragon
Age 2 because I preferred the way they looked in dragon age origins ( I
thought Zevran looked terrible with the wide eyes in DA2).

Here’s the first pairing in a new concept series I’m doing of the Mass Effect characters in the Dragon Age universe. Had to start with my boys! Kaidan’s look was influenced by Anders and his powers are probably pretty similar, though his spirit would be integrity rather than justice. I gave Shepard the blood dragon armor since it seemed most fitting for him as the lead character and is a nod to the fact that the blood dragon armor already serves as a bridge between the two titles.
Next up is Jack and Miranda, Jack is going to be soooo much fun. (She’s going to be a blood mage)

"waiting for evac"

Garrus and Tali on Rannoch

Giving myself some closure to the Shepard/Kaidan storyline now that the extended cut is out and I can imagine a more hopeful outcome with the revised the destroy ending. Garrus is doing his bro duty and making sure no one interrupts their reunion.

Wrex, Eve, and Grunt riding cloned Kakliosaurs (gift from the salarians as a gesture of goodwill). Wrex is holding baby Mordin. It'll be a victory parade taking place a few months after the end. This one will be tricky since all I have to go on for kakliosaur ref is this wall painting from the game but it allows for creative interpretation which is cool.

Reaper Drell/Hanar hybrid

In the second version I decided to have the elcor serve as a kind of moving platform for reaper volus fighters so not technically a hybrid but I still think it's a cool idea. *edit* someone suggested I fuse the lower half of the volus to it's back and get rid of the railing, that's what's going on in the first version and I like it better since their upper bodies could rotate easily to fire in almost any direction.

Finished up this one finally. Always fun to paint my favorite character Mr. Kaidan Alenko, I might try Samara next. But before that I'm going back to the reaper hybrids, next up is an Elcor/Volus mash up.

While painting my Kaidan piece (which is also fun just taking longer) I had a flash of inspiration for the first reaper hybrid I wanted to do, it's an asari and salarian mash up.

Reaper Pyjak, I envision the Pyjaks being put to use mainly as reaper spy/scouting units, they'd be deployed on planets like earth where you have a large number of civilians hiding underground or in the countryside. The Pyjak unit would signal back to ground forces upon finding survivors and if confronted directly it has a little laser gun in it's mouth to offer some resistance. They also like to pester Wrex in their free time.

Here's the varren concept, I'm nicknaming him the unicorn. Pretty funny how despite my best efforts he still came out looking adorable.

Reaper Thresher Maw (or Reaper Kalros) it fights with a retractable reaper beam cannon (I sure seem to love cannons). I wanted to try an actual scene for once instead of just a concept. Included process shots for this one.

By popular demand and to celebrate this weekends multiplayer rebellion pack, the reaperized vorcha. I used to play a lot of left4dead so I was influenced by the spitter zombie.

I thought it was weird that the Reapers bypassed the Yahg in the game since the other races had already considered them for uplifting so they must have been further along the evolutionary process than humans/asari/turians were the last time the reapers came around. Seems like bypassing the yagh would have given them ample time to become a viable threat during the next cycle, maybe moreso than the protheans even, given the extreme intellect and strength displayed by the shadow broker. My reaper Yagh has his arms converted into scaled down versions of thannix cannons, he's also got a sort of blade attachment coming out of his cranium for headbutt charge attacks, he'd probably be introduced as a means to combat the Krogan forces on Palaven and if you actually met him in single player he'd be a boss battle.

Quarian Reaper Husk, complete with a couple of reaper combat drones under it's influence.

An unaltered Krogan reaper enemy (as in not a Brute which is mixed with a turian) Flamethrower units, their heads and upper body are splitting open as a result of reaper mutation. They'd act much like a geth pyromancer.

Drell Husk, [melee/shooter enemy, they arc pulse shots at the player with their curved armatures. Obviously you wouldn't want to get to close to them either. I didn't want to go too crazy with the drell, I think having them look sort of creepy but still attractive makes them more interesting.

The reaper altered hanar, I envision them as fast moving, gliding across the battlefield to slice and dice the player and squadmates as a form of attack. They would have relatively low life bars to compensate for their extreme speed and damage output. The ornamentation on top is a sort of religious symbol since I envisioned the reapers converting hanar through fanaticism centered around their worship of the enkindlers, much like the Hanar diplomat in the ME3 Kasumi mission.

A reaper Volus, since the idea of a menacing volus is kind of a joke I chose to make them suicide bombers who only have the option of detonating near the player as a form of attack. I also was ignorant of the fact that Volus explode outside their pressure suits so I got rid of the feet and gave them mech legs.

My version of a salarian husk, I heard there was one in one of the Mass Effect comics though I haven't gotten aroudn to reading them yet.

The Elcor Ambassador in ME3 talked about how they wage war with VI assisted cannons on their backs so my reaper elcor has the reapers sort of mocking them by turning them into actual living tanks, I imagine them as hanging far back and pummeling the player a lot like the ravager units but they would have way more health, maybe twice the life bar of a brute.
