Legacy was definitely better, lots of Grey Warden  and Hawke Family lore (esp good if you take Anders or a GW Sibling in there with you), good fights, and overall good fun. I enjoyed it better than any of DAO's DLCs. One rather complex (but easy to do) puzzle with a linear solution.

MotA was a lot of fun too, (especially with a sarcastic Hawke). Not a big fan of the NPC companion forced on you 99% of the DLC, but it wasn't a dealbreaker for me, and you get 2 other regular companions to bring along, they just aren't with you for a significant portion of the DLC. Some fun cameo moments with NPCs from Origins and DA2 during the party. A few hard (but doable) puzzles. I figured one out myself, had to Utube the other.

Both have some nice gear you can get (for doing the puzzles), especially if you don't have the Items DLC's (I do though so much less use from that aspect of them myself).

Overall, both were enjoyable, but if you can only get one, go with Legacy.

Well if you love extra content I say buy without a doubt.

Good grey warden stuff in legacy and fun fights as well as an good optional boss fight. And banter, really good banter and you learn about Malcom. Anders, sibling and Varric brings extra to the table in this dlc, but I honestly propose multiple run through since the end sence depends on where you are in the game (Different ends scenes for differenct acts).

Mark, well I don't like Tallis your guest companion, but other than that it is good. You get to poke fun at orleasian, break into their vault and do their insane puzzle defence.

What the DA2 DLC does is 'fix' the main issue that players had with the 'vanilla' game: That every environment was repetitive.

Legacy takes place in a barren sandbank and has some epic dungeon crawling, where MotA has wide open 'nature' environments. Both are very useful to start when you're tired of fighting another group of bandits in Kirkwall. They'll both offer a good change of pace.

In my opinion, it's a bit like this:
Legacy: Epic, epic tale that ties DA:O and DA:2 together and that explains more about the Darkspawn, Wardens and Hawke family. It also has some AMAZING quest rewards. Truly amazing.
MotA: Oceans Eleven in the Dragon Age universe. It's cool, it's smooth, it's funny. It has some of the most hilarious dialogue ever. Take your Love Interest with you (especially Isabela) and you'll have a great time. It also includes a healthy amount of Orlais (French) bashing.

It's fun for additional action for sure. But I have a huge problem with making the final battles so darn complicated. They are not fun.

Can anyone help me with the Mark of the Assassin? it says the item is in hemlen's house, however earlier in the game I refused to do a kill job for him and basically he's out of the picture. I can't enter the house. How do I get the item now?

I liked all the DLC for DA2; it added some good backstory, character interaction, boss battles, loot, puzzles and gameplay.

I really enjoyed the stealth portion of MotA, even if it was rather short, as it added a new mechanic which I have missed when playing my Rogues.

Legacy was very replayable for the banter - make certain you take Varric with you.

If you didn't get the initial DLC that added Sebastian Vael I would get that as well ... he adds an interesting new perspective and some of the cameo material that comes along with him is very cool. (and I enjoyed his loyalty mission)

Both story DLC's are totally fun and awesome. It shows the direction the DA team are going with the franchise and all indications from the DLC's point to real good meaty stuff.

I found both DLC's entertaining. I will say, though, that I had had about two playthoughs by the time I bought them.

I really liked both DLC's. Legacy is more about background information and MotA is just plain fun to play. Sad they didn't make more of these...

Legacy was worth it, more or less.

MotA was pretty fun, until I saw the anti-Qunari ending. Then it just sort of became.... bad.

I gave my reasons for it in this thread, wherein I then linked to two other threads in my main post on the topic.

I think you're reading waaay too much into things.  After the inital reaction on here, BioWare were left with a salvage job.  It was only 'meaty' because DA2 had fallen from grace and if they [BioWare] had any real hopes of salvaging the situation, they had to deliver with the dlc.  The fact the dlc was put back, or released at a later date than was previously annonced says more about the situation than anything you or i can say.

I don't believe for a single second that we got the dlc that was originally planned.  Nae doubt we were getting more of the same.

All the DA 2 DLC are really good. I really liked them, myself. Legacy was good and Mark of the Assassin was even better. Get both.

Yes. Get them both, they're both fantastic.

Both have brilliant banter, large chunks of character stuff for everyone, lore-expansion, new enemies and they've fixed the encounter/enemy wave problem. If you're a lore nut, Legacy will be like candy, it has plot points that could turn out to be really, really big. If you're en evironment nut (or just thought the Free Marches were a bit too grey/brown), you'll love MoTA. The colour scheme and environment design in MoTA is astounding.

Legacy is great, so is MotA.
Banter is great in both. In Legacy take a GW sibling and Anders!

But in MotA, I despise Tallis.. Shame you can't kill her.

Legacy is just wonderful =)

Looking forward to playing it already on my newest Hawke. She just picked up Fenris in Act 1 and I want to play it in Act 3 so there is some time left. Legacy has some changes depending on which act you choose to play it in. Gold for replay-value.

MotA was also really good. Some good and fun banter and story.

*sigh*

Wish we could have gotten one more piece of dlc for DA2 since these two were so good.

Legacy brought the story together more. I am one of those rare people who loved DA2 despite its obvious issues, but Legacy made it even better. Mark of the Assassin is also top notch.

LI banter is different for each DLC depending on the stage of the relationship. The little quips from Fenris made me smile. I'm bringing Anders next time. XD

they both have good quailities of them.fun, gives about an hour of gameplay more.
additives to story,items and backround.
but honestly theyre not worth the 800MSP/BWP thats needed to buy.
if you can spare the money on them.then ill say go for it and have fun, other wise wait tell theyve become cheaper

I recently played the game for the first time and downloaded all the story related DLCs (Exiled Prince, Mark of the Assassin, Legacy). Legacy was definitely the most worthwhile. I can't say for sure, but I'm pretty sure Mark of the Assassin introduced a horrendously annoying attack speed glitch into my game. I encountered it during that DLC, and subsequently had to replay large portions of the game and continuously reload every time I encountered it afterward. Not sure if it's related to the DLC, but since I encountered it during that quest it seems likely. The story itself was mildly interesting, and you get to see some old characters so that was fun. I'm not that attached to Sebastian (Exiled Prince) but the DLC had some interesting implications for the end of the game, and possible DA3, so you might want to check it out.

The thing i didn't like about the DLC is that it showed variation is possible compared to DA2 itself.
Playing Legacy at Act2 or even 3 makes your return to Kirkwall harder since your back in the same dull repeating environment again.

But yes Legacy is a cool DLC nice story and a pretty irritating end fight but when you make it it feels quite rewarding..

MotA i wasn't to happy about, Talis was a fun introduction however the sneaking part was annoying and still existed even if you played a rogue. The puzzles are a bit annoying if you wouldn't use any sort of guide.

I think the main reason to play MotA would be to see some old friends.
