As the title states, the download is expected to take 30 hours. Origin needs a more efficient method for downloads. I understand that I should be posting on EA's forums, but their tech support is incompetent.
Is there any way for me to speed this download up? or will I have to leave my computer on until I wake up a day from now? Thank you.

EDIT: It was just my ISP. Annoying company has a monopoly on internet and phone service in my area. Because of that they get away with substandard speeds and outrageous prices. Anyway, download's finished. Installed the game and updates. Everything works great.

...Downloads are based on your download speed you know, not the client.

Origin can't magically download it twice as fast with a patch. It's based on your connection.

I've had some download clients get over 1000 KB/s. This isn't the best I can get.

I'm sorry for your situation. I've heard little better about Origin than about Steam.

It's one of the reasons I always stick to physical media (at least initially) whenever possible. It won't be man years before Origin, Steam et al. are the default. But not yet.

The bottom line is that unless you access their servers when they are not at all busy, there's not much you can do to improve that connection speed.

12 hours and 30 minutes left. I only purchased the game to support BioWare. I made a mistake by getting it through EA's Origin client. Now EA gets a huge cut and I get slower download speeds than some of the less official sources.

"less official sources"? Please don't go there next time. Two wrongs don't make a right. Chalk it up to experience, maybe buy something else from a different publisher next time, and move on.

As I originally stated, I bought the copy with origin. I haven't needed to use any of those programs and likely won't. I can download just about anything without paying, but I don't. Trust me, I have just under a decade of experience with computers. If something isn't worth buying, it isn't worth using. Please excuse me while I restart my router in an attempt to raise my speed above 1.56 Mbits/s.

Not sure what you mean by "EA gets a huge cut", since EA owns BioWare.

I'm currently downloading from EA servers at 187 KB/s (which seems to be what my ISP thottles me to.)

I inaccurately assumed that the relationship between BW and EA was similar to one between iTunes and a songwriter. I was tired and didn't feel like verifying it. I'm taking your word on it for the same reason. Anyway... The problem is no longer an issue.
