Depends on the species, turian.

But seriously, I picked destroy absolutely hating it.

But I hated the other options more.

I didn't commit genocide. I didn't kill anyone intentionally, which is what genocide is.

It's the difference between murder and manslaughter.

But you did do it on purpose. He told you "If you shoot this tube, the Geth will die."

It seems you knew what you were doing going into it.

Well, the geth were already dead in my playthrough. So... I didn't commit genocide.

Genocide against what exactly? The Geth?

Sacrifices need to be made in War times, if the Geth had to be wiped out to ensure all other races did not receive the same treatment at the hands of the Reapers, then it was worth it.

They were machines, they only just obtained true AI intelligence; I did not know them personally. I knew Legion; who was dead. Legion was not an accurate representation of all Geth.

I didn't kill the geth, BioWare did.

- They put that crap in there just to stop everyone from picking destroy and you know it. Thanks for reminding me of another reason I hated the endings. :pinched:

Done it before during Arrival, my brain doesn't comprehend how I'm supposed to control something while dead and synthesis seems like you're giving in to the Reapers. Red seems to be the only option.

I admit I kind of wanted to Paragon my way out of having to kill the geth like I did the first time around.

I wouldn't say I enjoyed it, but it was neccessary, the reapers had to die to ensure they wouldn't come back some other time.

I figure that the Geth and EDI survived as Shepard did and the catalyst said that they would all die for the same reason.  So was obviously either lying or mistaken.

Nope. But then, I also didn't enjoy the idea of mass genetic rape or becoming a computer and letting the Reapers live. Lesser of all evils, dude.

That's like teaching a bunch of people to read, then shooting them in the head. Killing them just because they were less literate than you a month ago is just plain mean. It's like giving a kid a lolipop then stomping it into the ground while telling him/her that Santa isn't real. You gave the kid a gift, then snatched it away because hey, you'll never have to see that kid again.

I don't think you understand. Well, actually, I think you're trolling, but I'll explain it anyway.

On purpose: for that deliberate reason.

I didn't pick destroy just so I could kill the geth. I picked destroy because it was the lesser of three evils.

Control has the big possibility that the reapers would overpower Shepard, or that Shepard would be come corrupt and abuse the power he has now. You know, what we told TIM for nearly 2 games.

Synthesis is ridiculous and makes no sense. Personally, I think it's the worst possible choice because it simply insults one's intelligence. You're also basically altering (and to which degree?) the entire galaxy without anyone's consent, which is worse than killing them to be honest.

I picked destroy because that was what I had in mind for the reapers from the start. It's the only way to be sure about anything concerning the reapers. They won't come back in any shape or form, now or in the future. You end them. Also, as an added bonus, Shepard survives if your EMS is high enough.

To add to that, I hardly believed anything the starchild said. The "oh by the way, all synthetics will die" was too tacked on, it made me feel like the starchild was lying to try and dissuade me from choosing it, since it had no real downside.

Hearing from other people that picked destroy that EDI walked out, solidified for me that destroy is the only thing remotely close to a "good" ending.

The sad thing is that most of the galaxy won't care about the genocide.

In fact, most would celebrate.
