I am from the Ammon Jerro (of NWN2 fame) school of thought, which dictates that the King of Shadows must be stopped. Otherwise, there will be thousands more ruins full of corpses. And solutions that allow the Reapers to exist aren't good enough. They must be destroyed and their legacy buried, no matter what the cost may be. One race is a small price to pay for stopping the cycle of genocide which has been already going for millions of years. We can honor Geth noble sacrifice later.

Is it a sacrifice if you didn't choose to die, but someone else chose for you?

I KNOW there's a relevant clip regarding making someone else sacrifice themselves for you. And it'd be funny and pertinent. But my googlefu is weak.

Yes, if it serves a purpose. Scale of the threat is unimaginable. How can you risk a failure and doom everyone because of some stupid sentiment? You don't have much time and there is only one choice that guarantee the ultimate success, without any possible drawbacks. The universe isn't perfect and you can't save everyone.

Well... There's a few possible drawbacks in destroy, to be honest. And yes, wiping out a race is one of them.

I don't see what you are talking about. In my game, the crucible fired correctly and eliminated nothing but reapers. With the help of all these technicians from different species, it would be silly that the crucible would kill anything else.

Blowing up the relays, the Citadel, and leaving Earth covered in dead, indoctrinating Reapers. :P

I want to save everyone the trouble of dealing with the still-existing Reapers.

And as a hanar aren't you supposed to refer to yourself in the third person? I knew you are one rude jellyfish specimen.

Yeah, that's why I was kicked off of my homeworld. Now I just lurk on internet forums.

Sorry, if EDI AND Shepard survived when Star Child/Vent Boy said they would, why should I believe the Geth bit the bullet?

The relays blow up either way, the Cidatel IS the master of the Reapers, so we can live without it. And we can't be sure that Reapers killed by the Crucible are still indoctrinating. There is a good chance they are completely deactivated. I would rather deal with dead Reapers than with living ones.

I dunno, my goal was to destroy the Reapers. Bioware sure as hell didn't want my Shepard to have a happy ending so I was like "lol screw everything, everyone dies!1111"

Okay. Only the Reapers got to die and I'm sticking with that, damn it.

The relays don't explode in control! Just fizzle. And we have no idea if dead reapers are still active or not. That's headcanon as much as going "My Shepard would fly the reapers into a far, far away sun."

Lots of speculation for everyone.

Yes I do enjoy it, because I seem to like things joining together, but that's only because I wasn't given a better option

I had already killed the Geth, so it was an easier decision. Either way I would chosen destroy though. Blue is basically a gamble and green is like raping the entire galaxy.

Whereas Control and Synthesis are full stops in the Mass Effect universe (albeit ones in the middle of a sentence), Destroy, in my eyes, leaves a lot more open. What happens if more synthetics are created? Without the Reaper's technology, what do we do without the Mass Relays? Is Shepard dead? Was it all a dream? Is there more like the Reapers waiting in dark space? Who knows?
To many fans, this will be the best option, because it allows for sequels, but I'm just waiting to see if the extended cut fixes all the problems, like many others.

That's actually a good point. Who's to say the red 'splosion actually kills the Geth? Bioware has already said that the Citadel isn't actually destroyed even though we see it exploding and falling apart. That's obviously because they didn't realize how stupid the end sequence with Shepard taking a breath was when they made it, but still.

 No.

That's why I picked destroy. Becaues I'm pretty sure trusting the Reaper leader was actually foolish, and he's trying to trick you with his bullcrap against the destroy so you could get indoctrinated like Saren (Synthesis) or the Illusive Man (Control).

And then everyone dies. The end.

I chose destroy for a simple reason. I don't trust starchild and I want to see him BURN!
