Is there any way to make the AI avoid hitting your people? It seems like i have to grab morrigan, position her, and use it myself if i dont want 1 or all of the others frozen... is this just the way it is or is there a tactic to avoid friendly fire?

You could try setting up there tactics, telling them which spells and talents to use and when. There should be a way to tell her within tactics when to use CoC and when not to. At the very least, it will have her doing so much other stuff she won't be able to use CoC without you.
