This is something I have never tried before: Create a soundset for a creature.

Ideally the sound will play as the creature is moving - that being the extent of my intended soundset.

Anyone have a link to a tutorial or a post that covers the topic of soundsets?

Thanks
Mor

Unfortunately I don't, but having extra soundsets available from the Vault would be sweet!

You can assign a constant sound to a creature in appearance.2da. That's why earth elementals make a constant 'burbling' noise no matter what sound set they have.

Excellent DannJ - I'll give it a go!

*Edit*
I think that would be appearancesndset.2da for the record.

Now I have tried to use a wav filename but that didnt work - so I am going to search for a filename listed in the "Loop" column and see what type of file type it is - likely a wav but at this stage I just cant say.

So - yes the appearancesndset.2da does indeed use wav format - but I am not having any luck with getting it to play yet.

I think I need to check the other sound in the location and that may be overriding the creature snd loop...

On a semi-related topic, I noticed that some of the voice menu items don't seem to work as a sound set. I.e. the NPC emits no greeting when clicked upon. Is this just because there are no corresponding wav files? I usually end up having to experiment until I find one that works and fits the character.

I came across a file a couple of days ago that seems to address what you're asking about, rjshae.  Is this what you want?

Morbane, did you find how to get the wav files to play?  I got some custom wavs to play by using MP3toBMU to convert them to NWN-compatible wav format.
