The problem with percentages is that they are still going to be random. It is quite likely that you can get most of the items if you win the RNG sweepstakes, or almost none. The simple solution is to offer the weapons individually for credits or Bioware points. Say 500k per rank or 800BW points for a rank X of any one UR weapon.

The problem with this, at least from Bioware's standpoint, is that you risk people not wanting to grind further in a game that really has no long-term replay value. Before anyone freaks out about that comment, let me simply say that for this genre of game, once you have unlocked all the items and classes there is no real reason to continue playing without some type of ranking system. Now, of course, casual play doesn't factor into that; however you are not trying to keep casual players for the most part in a game with micro-transactions.

To throw out an example, the only current system for this game is N7 ranking. I have, currently, a ranking of 1800+ (without logging in to check the exact number). Now, that ranks me somewhere in the top 300 worldwide and top 50 in the US (again, estimated from last time I checked). If this were your standard shooter, that would mean I was an elite player. In this game, it just means I have a lot of time on my hands and like promoting characters. I play quite well, but I've also been amazed by the skills of people with ranks far lower than mine. In a true ranking system, I am certain I would not be ranked this high so there really is no value to me in the number.

So, either a true ranking system would need to be implemented or there will need to be continual updates like resurgence and new weapons to keep people interested. I can tell you that I personally am growing tired of the repetition of the game and really the only reason I am still playing is to finish unlocking weapons. With the drop rate of the UR weapons being so low, barring PSP's (which are still ludicrous), even the lure of maxing out my weapon list is becoming lackluster. So I can only hope that something changes soon, or else I will start getting to my backlog of games that I haven't played.

To grind the games if there is a reasonable chance of procession with every minute played. That is not so with URs. Their reward is not worth the effort required.

The values I have are in Approimation and are best case. You are right.

So, you're saying being rank 1 in Modern Warfare 3 requires skill? Think again

I was first 10th and 1st of kills in my country in me3, the game requires no-lifeing and nothing more as the game is broken with a few weapons, my kd in it is still 2.5 ish

Where can you track the K/D ratio?

Lol being rank 1 in MW3 only requires no lifing and constant playing. I played against a guy who was rank 10 in the world at one point ( I was around rank 3000 or so) and I absolutely dominated him and his team.

Prestige and rank (when it's based on total kills) means absolutely nothing in mw3, the leaderboard system is a joke. Allthough that kind of describes mw3 as a whole so yeah.

I think he means MW3, not ME3 ;)

MP N7 Rank is really just how long you are playing. There is no way to compare one rank to another. There is no contest of skill and no PVP. Even the scores in completing a mission have no bearing on the N7 Rank

Excatly my point - death_for_sale wrote that in any other "standard shooter" (and I think MW3 qualifies as the standard shooter of all) you are ranked by skill, which is just not true.

not so much paranoia siran just a thought since every 1 i see or play with are still unlocking upgrades for N7 weapons so for my hours credits clocked up and packs i purchased there should of atleast been 1 N7 gun since its been a tone of credits and only psp or sp packs purchased i did state yes i was getting 1 or 2 character cards from them but vet packs give them out every time for me so why the hell would i waste 60/99,000 credits when i can get same from vet packs as i said just funny how its come to a grinding stop after i gone a couple weeks not spending any cash theres also the fact that every cash pack purchased i always got guns and character cards from each pack 1 pack i bought gave 3 gold guns and N7 gun but now for weeks not 1 single N7 yet the dude top of leaderboard still unlocking loads N7 weapon upgrades and its not his play time or rank i dont think cause im on same amount or more hours a day as him only difference he promotes alot i dont

I just worked out.

Gold run 25 mins 70000 Credits.

A common item is earned 4.29 times faster then a uncommon
A uncommon item is earned 2.91 times faster then a Rare
A Rare item is earned 20 times faster then a Ultra-Rare.

Compared to a rare:
Common items are acquired at 1250% (12 times the rate) ($5000 * 12 = 60000)
Uncommon items are acquired at 292% (3 times the rate) ($20000 * 3 - 60000)
Rare items are 100% naturally
Ultra Rare items at 4.83% (20 times slower)

For pack costs it makes sense. But Ultras are still best case.

This math stuff is nice, but you won't get a response over the forums. You'll need to message the mods or someone. Make some noise and someone will come around to see what the fuss is about

Having 'unreachable' goals works good in multiplayer games; always something to look forward to and people who invest more x will have better equipment. But of course every kind of loot system is just another way of dragging a game on (some more than others).

I do hope unlocking every card to max isn't your only goal. Personally I'll be happy enough when I unlocked every weapon at least once and all characters and mods to max.

First of all, it would really help if you employed some basic form of grammar and punctuation.

Secondly, that you're only getting character cards now is because you've maxed out all gold guns already (due in no small part to the fact that you spent so much real money on the packs). Therefore, all gold cards (and you're getting two golds guaranteed in a standard PSP) are now character cards except for the small chance of them being black aka N7. That chance has not changed, it's been confirmed here in several threads to be around 9-10% for PSP and around 5% for SP. Which leads me to believe that each gold-slot has a chance of roughly 5% for an N7 black card. That's basic math for you.
