I'm sure Bioware is happy with the success of the MP component. I get the idea that they aren't striving for anything above the status quo, which is kind of disappointing.

If true that is more dissapponting then the Ending to Mass Effect 3.

How dare they try to make money off their product or make the game last longer then a couple of months... screw video games, let's all go give 10 bucks for a one time 2 hour movie and not even think about how much money the actors and studios are getting because they deserve it... wait what?

I have complained about a lot of things - the bugs, the terrible customer support, the bugs, the ending, having my character/equipment wiped, the bugs....

But the rarity of the weapons is not one of them. What would be the fun if everybody was able to get them easily? If you find yourself worrying THAT much about being able to get lvl X of every single weapon out there without difficulty... it might be time for you to A) see a therapist for your obsessive compulsive behavior, or take a deep breath and do something else for a while.

You don't need every lvl X weapon in order to have fun. Its the journey, not the destination, - amirite?

Because it's funny, to me, that there are people who would post three pages about how rare something is, illustrated by math, and complain about the length of time it would take to do said thing. You were not satisfied with the bioware support answer but it is all the answer you need. The weapons are intended to be something like "holy sh*t my wife just had a two headed baby" rare. Even if people only play ME3 multiplayer a couple of months and get bored with it why would it be unreasonable if they only had 5-6 ultra rare drops? Are you able to complete golds without the ultra rares? At most they might make the process easier or more likely for a success but they are not stopping you from completing all that there is to do.

I'm thinking there is probably a happy medium between "getting them easily" and getting one to none over the span of 50+ PSP's, all the while being endlessly bombarded by character cards that serve no purpose.

Most of the interesting weapons are Ultra Rare.

Most of these weapons need multiple levels to be better than the lower ranked weapons.

Multiplayer is extremely repetitive, the only remaining challenge left for many people is spec variations and different weapon combinations. 

Ultra Rare weapons are an untapped portion of the game that many want access to and because of the ridiculous drop system in a gear based game they are virtually unobtainable.

Every time you open a Spectre or PSP and get character cards....that do nothing...it is a letdown.

I evaluated and critiqued the issue and complaints have arisen.

Yet my OP was a question.. is this even or reasonable. Here is the evidence, judge for yourself.


I wrote the threat because it is a place to write a critically evulate of the game and it's elements and to share the expierences with others. Like that or not that is the intention of a thread.

I could have easily said.. Blah Blagh bioware are evil blah balh EA are blah blah.

But I gave evidence to my claims and acted in a civil way.

If you love EA, that that is great for you. If you think Bioware and Mass Effect 3 are perfect then, that again is great for you. But I don't see any of the three in that light and I see a 'forum' (yes a pun) to make a voice heard where I can raise an issue and gather a reason to why.

Now Bioware to my knowledge refuses to answer any question about the ending. Even directors give a Voice over in their DVD release so I don't understand why an 'artist' wouldn't explain and expand on their vision and 'enlighten' the community to understand it from their prespective. Bioware also do not appear to want to discuss the logic and reasons behind why they have made certian game element and design choices.

Do they have too NO!... They never had to say a word. But if they want to form a community of players, then that involves a duologue of points expressing both dissatisfaction and exhilaration. dissatisfaction  at the negative or lacking points in a game to bring them to a place of exhilaration. This is only done by critiquing through evaluations and then expressing dissatisfaction.

Did you like the ending of Mass Effect 3. If yes then that is good for you. If no, then were you apart of any movement that expressed dissatisfaction. IF not are you still happy to recieve the fruit of their labour, even though they were complaining?

For the UR drops they are an untapped experience in the game. The game for me only had a life cycle of enjoyment of about 70 hours in MP. I felt it was not even given the gameplay VS rewards.

If you have a postive element to bring to the dicussion then by all means add it.
If you like the UR Drop Rate then this is not the thread for you as all you can do is comlain about this thread.

To bottom line it. I won't play the game if it is not fun. Hence I am not playing MP more then one game every few days.



I reference this:


It is funny how MP and SP are then considered way different beasts.


In SP for game 1:

Extreme Power Gamer
Reach 60th level with one character (Requires 862,100 XP.) All experience rewards increase by 5%.


Completionist
Complete the majority of the game (35 assignments and 15 missions). Experience rewards increase by 5%.



SP in game 2

Power Gamer
Reach Level 30 with one character.



SP in game 3

Master and Commander
Deliver most of the Galaxy at War assets to the final conflict.



So
there are achievements in all three games for getting everything or
getting to the highest level, but MP is not to be considered the same.

More surpisingly is how reapeative MP is.

The
point is that MP is way to repeative to justify the low drop rate.
There is not enough life in the current MP game to make it worth it. But
there are achievements for being a Completionist in sp?

It is once you've beaten everything. The only surprise for me is stupid randoms who suck at the game, but that's kind of expected. And the occasional Banshee which grabs ****s my character from behind.

There is no "data" that shows that.  Ther are just highly unscientific methods being used on this forum to try to figure out what the drop rates are.  They mean nothing in terms of actual "data".
