Does anyone know a good freeware app that can properly convert sound effects to a format NWN2 can read?
I have been using audacity to convert my sounds, 128kbps, 44100hz, mono, mp3 file, renamed extension to wav as I remember from the old tutorials from the old forums.
This worked for one file, but not for two others.
Does anyone know if I am forgetting something? or does audacity have issues making sounds that nwn2 can understand?
I am using the sounds in the VFX editor, adding them inside SEF's.
Thanks

Check out the info here:

I use Audition by Adobe. Not free, but maybe you have a setting wrong? It sounds like you have the file settings correct. Uncompressed is the only thing missing. Maybe you are missing one of the check boxes?

Wavepad and it's sister app can do it. They bug you about upgrading to the pro versions, but it's not necessary to do. I used it for my sound project.

I use Wavepad too - it is really better than Audacity for modifying sounds for NWN2 because it allows a few basic settings to be edited easily; like mono/stereo and kbps and hz for each file...
Also try making your mp3 into a wav - simply changing the extension might not be enough...
