Gliese is correct. Before the patch each point in str gave a nominal 0.85 points of damage. Now it's 0.425 per point of str or dex. (Replace str with cun if cun > str and you have Lethality.)

Daggers are now 50% str / 50% dex rather than 100% str. It takes twice as many attribute points to get the same attribute damage bonus.

That would mean the patch is a big dagger nerf.

Yes it is, in a way. Before you could go all Cun and be both a brilliant Rogue and a good dps char, who however needed help with Atk.

Now you do less damage, and the more Cun you get, the less Atk and Def you will have.

The confusion around this issue is simply incredible. Before: 1 x .85 (str modifier for daggers) per point in str/cunning with lethality.
Now: Half of that for str/cunning and half for dex, that is 1 x .425 per point in either. What that does for your build obviously depends on the build.

That would mean the patch is a big dagger nerf.
3 Points per Levelup * 15 Levels (for a mid game char) = 45 Points
Before: All Points in Cun: 45*0.85 = 38.25 extra damage
After: Half of the Points in Cun: 23*0.425 = 9.775 + Half of the Points in Dex: 22*0.425 = 9.35 = 19.125 extra damage

Does not seem right to me.

I agree 100%.

Can anyone confirm that the multipliers actually do work this way?

Yes they work that way.

It's not as bad as it seems because
--Even cunning rogues had to make some investment in dex before, so now they get damage from that
--Dagger/dagger dex rogues are now viable
--A lot of your damage comes from sources other than the attribute bonus (Tainted Blood, runes, Exploit Weakness, etc.) The patch doesn't affect that.

It is not as if your cunning rogue will do half as much DPS now. It's more like a 15-20% drop. And of course there's no change if you were already using the dex hotfix  Posted Image

I'm confused. I'm currently running a dag/dag cunning roge built off this page: http://social.biowar...66/index/223777

It seems to me it is still viable. Or should I put more points in dexterity?

Yep, or you could go all strength to get a good attack rating and damage and smack on some heavy armour for protection. Not as viable as using axe/daggers or axe/axe perhaps, I've not done the math on that, but there was an argument for it if you focused on multiple poisons and runes since you get max attack speed from daggers.

dag/dag Cun should still be the build for the highest dps because some talents benefit from Cunning. (like the third bard song)
The good thing is you can now put points in Dex(to increase defence and attack) without loosing a lot damage (you still loose damage but not as much as before).
The bad thing is you loose nearly half the damage from attributes no matter where you put your points.
