Agree. On PS3 there were at least 140k people who played multiplayer at least once at the time of that event. Assuming a fraction of that number even played it seems like they would have helped the entire community reach a million dead phantoms by Saturday afternoon. And PS3 users got an extension to the event on Monday, so the number in my head is something like 3.2 million at least altogether across all platforms.

But I'm just speculating. I want to see a live counter for this event!

There can never spawn more than two Banshees at once. "Play gold".. I've played Gold only since the demo and I know the ins and outs of the Coalesced.bin file. You've been in a modded game if you've ever seen more than two Banshees on the field.

I don't think it will be too bad. I can say that I probably see about 20 Banshee's per Gold match that I play. The only thing will be community participation. Will people be more focused on just trying to clear Gold on Full Extraction easily (FBWGG) or will they try to keep the community goal in mind? Personally I like to go for the community goal so I'll be doing Random/Reaper/Gold the whole time while playing an Asari Justicar or Adept.

Given the stats they have posted, and an assumption of a minimum of 2 banshees killed in a round, you can assume maybe 10 - 12 a match (gold/silver). If you play at least 10 matches then that is a 100 or so. The numbers add pretty quick.

I think you are on to something. Not everything they change seems to be reported in the balance changes thread from empirical experience. Either that or it was lag, but you can usually tell...

Cool. Glad you pulled out a coalesced.bin spawn for wave 8. But on Wave 9 and 10 there are more than two Banshee's on the field on Gold.

I've seen up to 5 at the same time before. And no, it wasn't a modded game. It was on Xbox and I play with a host friend that has an excellent T1 connection and she doesn't know the first thing about how to mod.

well im on 360 last night we had 4 banshees 2 brutes and 2 ravagers spawn on us when we was doing the round 6 upload bear in mind this was on reactor... 2 of us got insta killed then me and another player had to fire off all our rockets to finish the upload we refused to fail and it worked :D

Come on! Banshees? They die like flies. Well, flies sitting in armored tanks, but still. They die like flies!
Count me in. I will kill as many Banshees as possible. Bronze/Silver/Gold, it doesn't matter, right?
So, for those who want to kill Banshees fast, go to Bronze/Silver. Then gold for commendation pack.
I'll be doing Reaper/Gold all weekend. I'll damn well get a full extraction on Gold against Reapers. I'll gladly join any other PC players out there. I will bring a happy smile (which you can't see) to the table. And a cheerful mood, hopefully.

Getting a victory pack, no matter how minor the reward is, shows we can complete BioWare's challenges, that we are better than they assumed (unless the challenges are abysmally easy). It is not the contents that matter, it is the fact that we did it.
That's my take on it, anyway.

I guess PS3 doesn't care about the game parameters. See two posts up, dude. There can't be 3 at once. The game doesn't allow it. Unless the game files have been tampered with.

only two can spawn at any one point at a time but multiple spawn points can be in effect at the same time or just seconds away from eachother. My first ever gold run was on Dagger and on wave 10 6 atlas mechs spawned within 6-10 seconds of eachother but only 4 were ever active at a single time as a cobra took out the first 2

The only people arguing with you are on a PS3 and 360.  Maybe there's a reason?

Do you know what "game parameter" even means?

There's absolutely no difference between platforms. The game parameters don't change. It might "feel" like 3 Banshee's spawn because within 1-2 seconds after killing one, another one will spawn. Depending on where your three teammates are, the line of sight spawn penalty will be overriden and the 3rd Banshee might spawn next to the person who just killed one. 

The Colaesced.bin file is exactly the same on all platforms. So if you've seen more than two Banshee's on the field at the same time, here are the explanations as to why:

> The game was modded. 
> One Banshee was just killed, LOS penalty kicked in and spawned one in the room beside you.

To be honest i likely will not contribute a single kill to the community goal. Get my commendation pack which is worth something and completely unrelated to community goal and then not care. Why waste the effort on a victory pack? No thanks ^_^

Exactly. It just looks like more than 2 are on the field.

I recall a Silver or Gold match where I had 5 Brutes spawn in a row. As one died, the next spawned at a closer spot than the others had, making it seem as though more than 3 were on the field at once. Insta-spawning, instead of the distant, out-of-sight spawns, are what tend to throw off counts.

My thoughts exactly. Hell with allied goal if I and many others are going to get locked out of multiplayer after redeeming a "glorified equipment pack".

Squad Goal: Survive until a full extraction on any map against any enemy on gold difficulty.


What will they ask next. Complete gold unknown/unknown or gold vs reapers solo... :pinched:
