I also support this. Especially since the intro/beginning to a game is usually not able to be skipped. I don't even want to think of how many times I have played through the beginning of Mass Effect 2, for example, only to have to do it all over again when my character ends up with stiletto cheekbones, or some similar facial abomination. >_<

If you've done a custom character in any of the ME games, I'm sure you know what I'm referring to.

Actually the whole left Lothering part wasn't so good (well Flemeth and Aveline were nice ) but that's not a good way to start a game.Da:0 intro was far better!
Having a look at Lothering being attacked by darkspawn , and showing that we barely escape would have been far better than the bland corridor , with bunch of darkspawn.
And not good idea neither to put a weak part like this in a demo ^^.
Talking about ME , Face code! Just put some face code ...people can share their pc on the net.Because when people wanted to know about somebody's Hawke , you had to put x screenshot of character creator ...wasn't really practical.
And like ME , being able to replay the game with a character that already exist.(ok it would be mess with the inventory) but it's a nice feature .

A mirror of transformation should be SOP for these games going forward. Or, failing that, the ability to actually rotate your face during character creation. I was certain they wouldn't get that wrong in ME3, and then... they got it wrong.

Character Creator, then the opening showing Varric's interrogation and exaggeration, then the real deal.

Oooh,of course I do
Although I fared quite well with my femSheps in ME2,but when I wanted to create a characteristic, masculine male,
I ended up with...well....
I managed to create one in the end,but yep, going through the intro and getting to Jacob where I could finally see them in conversation...and realizing they were a bit off...so yes,we would not want to go through that again.Hail the OP:wizard:

I tried to make a custom maleShep once and utterly failed. It seems it was easier to make attractive Hawkes. I really hope the next DA CC has a lot of sliders. The ME3 CC made all my previously beautiful characters hideous.

Or, they could just allow you to skip straight to the CC after your first playthrough.
Skyrim stuck a convenient autosave just before CC, which worked OK.

Agreed again :DIt happened to my Sheps too, with the ME3 CC. Ah,well:lol:
But at least I managed to create ONE maleShep I was content with.
I also liked Wulfram`s suggestion, but would still prefer the OP`s idea - CC first, anything else after. Pretty please...

I get the whole Varric being an ass to Cassandra, thumbs up for that, but seriously, this is a game not a damn book. Sides would it not have made more sense to create your character first then have this.
I prefer making my character then going into the game. I do not like the default Hawke versions for a long list of reasons. Beyond that, the whole “Flee Lothering” was OK, (I suppose) the first time, but the times after I skipped the never ending cut scenes just to get in the city and PLAY my character. I also felt the “Flee from Lothering” was torture, I hope Dragon Age 3 does not do this again.

If not at least make the opening combat/cutscene/introduction skippable. I usually begun Mass Effect 2 by leaving TIM and Miranda chatting while I went downstairs for a cup of tea.

What I don't understand, is why do all of BioWare's CCs have such poor lighting? I have a high-def tv I play on, and it can still be hard to even tell what some eye colors are clearly until you are actually playing in decent light. Turn up the lights, please!
LMAO! I hear you. I have the same style T.V. hun and I have to get up off my couch and stand right in front of the T.V. an inch away to see the color of the eyes.
Which brings up another thing...Who the hell would want green eyeshadow?!
Where is the pure black stuff Izzy has!

Once I was able to get to the Black Emporium, though, I stopped facepalming. Please, please, please add that to future games.

Yes, listen to Bekkie! She speaks the truth, all the times I had to practically place my head on the TV screen just to see things like eye color, eye shadow. I shouldn't have to do that.Bekkael wrote...

Shocking I know. I always thought it was laughable that mass effect had bathrooms with no purpose. What better place to put a link to the cc for tweaking a character's looks than a bathroom!
