Not to fuss, but you spent 3 games trying to 'end the threat of the reapers'.

All 3 endings do that.

No, we were trying to destroy the reapers, the other two option let them live therefor the threat remains.

Potato, potahtoe.

Until you know the options, you can't make a choice, precisely. Once you do, you have a maximum of 10 minutes to choose how to stop the reapers.

Thought this would be a good place to link this amazing comic.
Total respect.

That comic's all sorts of fabulous. Have you seen the version with the music on youtube?

I really wish the rest of the squad had had more play in the endings.

Pretty much. It's all about the team.

....Which is why I didn't choose destroy. But it's not like I think it's a BAD choice.

Well, the game unequivocally tells you you ended the threat of the Reapers. So yes. Really. :o

The game also showed me TIM and Anderson activating the Crucible? I think they deserve a bit of credit too! especially since they ended the threat of the reapers before us! :P

Nothing the starchild says should be taken at face value. "The reapers are my solution". Really? I am supposed to take you seriously now after that line? Please. <_<

Anyways, considering that, destroy is the only logical choice in my opinion. Too much is at stake to blindly trust a reaper VI.

In this ending, all life in the galaxy is vaporized, and that dumb stargazer scene still happens.

Well, if we're debating endings based purely on theorizing...

Hey, control, fly Reapers into the sun, build robot body like EDI, and it takes 3 days to fix the relays from their slightly less exploded state.

Yeah, I'm not an indoctrination person.

I am, however, a sucker for the heroic sacrifice. Shepard killing herself to remove the threat of the reapers and save the machine race suited me all right. I'd like it to be clearer, but.... Well. The game as presented tells you you win with all 3 choices, and if we can't use the game as source material, there's not much point of debating it.

As far as I know, that 'bad' ending just wrecks Earth.

If the game wanted to tell me I didn't REALLY end the threat of the reapers, it could do it in sepia tones like every other "NOT REALLY HAPPENING" moment in the game. It's not exactly subtle.

And you trust the starchild if you choose destroy, too. Otherwise, why are you shooting the pipe and assuming it will do what he says what it will do?

Cool story bro...

In that ending the red wave vaporizes organics on Earth, the same red wave saturates the galaxy. and no one walks out of the ship. Yeah, sounds like a "win" to me:pinched:

The kid gives me 3 choices, two let the reapers live. It's metophorical.

Isn't that the same wave as 'good' destroy? Why is 'ending the reaper threat' metaphorical, but the reapers dying literal?

All endings, side by side.

..This is getting somewhat ridiculous... IT theory was already proven false. It pains me to say so, but that's how it is. No amount of belief will change that.

If you have our own headcanon, good for you. Trying to persuade people on the internet that your headcanon is the only way to go will only result in a flamewar.

I keep my headcanon for myself. I contribute only when someone directly ask me.

And here I thought I chose blue to keep from sacrificing my companions or compromising my ideals.

Well, guess that Shepard just had crushing inferiority instead of being an confident idealist. Thanks for clearing that up.

So the slowed movement from the dreams, the music from the dreams, the whispering from the dreams, the plants from the dreams, the speech reverb from the dreams and the child vision from the dreams wasn't enough?

What did you want? A big neon sign with "IT'S NOT REALLY HAPPENING" to show up in the final scene?
Would somewhat ruin the point, I think ;)

Well, anyone who gathers too few war points will always pass the "test," rendering this entire thread literally useless.  By doing less, you defeat the Reapers and are presented ONLY the destroy option.  Why would Catalyst present a loser with only that option?

No one has answered this point yet.

The reapers dying is metophorical as well, that's why Shepard wakes up back in London.

Actually if you save the reaper base in ME2 the only choice is control.

I will say that I'm not shocked at reused models.... Or sold on indoctrination theory. At all.

Here's all the good endings, together.

Of note -- the relays don't fully explode in control, no one cheers for synthesis, the Citadel in control, and of course, the crazy tech in synthesis.

Well, if reused models did it. nothing on the Citadel ever happened.

And if you have soundfiles and 'mood' (movements, sounds, ect) to create a 'dreamy' state, such as one experiences during bloodloss or pain, why NOT use them? Just to make it even more confusing?

Since every other 'not really happening' has had a big sepia toned sign, why not?;)
