Don't fear the Reaper... that leads to choices like Synthesis and Control.

Hah. Not fearing the Reapers  is why my canon rocked control. She gets to stamp a giant OWNED sticker on them.

Or an N7 emblem because our Shepards all seem big on labelling.

Control's my favorite choice as well.  Synthesis... we just aren't told enough about it, and destroy is too... murdery for me.

Best way to fend off pro-control, pro-synthesis arguments :"I don't trust the reapers, I never have and never will."

Well, Liara went revenge crazy. And Tali advocates killing geth. Jack takes care of a bunch of kids. It IS possible for someone who's a 'paragon' to support a 'renegade' option. And Anderson never knew that control was actually a viable option.

It's not good and evil. It's more idealist and pragmatist.

The game makes a point to show you that its TIM that is the "good" one by a belief that we have come to know is wrong. The Prothean VI tells you that the reapers trick people into thinking that they can control the reapers and become indoctrinated. The VI says that this happends with every cycle. The reapers are tricking you now.

See, that's not how I interpret it, because... well, it turns out to be a viable choice.

Best way to fend off anti-control and anti-synthesis arguments:  "Shepard has become a legend by ending the Reaper threat."  Basically just citing the game itself will do.

The catalyst tries to get you away from destroy by mentioning that we can wipe out all synthetic life if we want.

guys..all the choices are crap
really

and if you can't trust the starchild to tell the truth for one ending, you can't expect him to tell the truth for any of the endings

a lot of people have a problem understanding that concept and I'm not sure why..

The catalyst presents all 3 options as equal. Your idea of him trying to get us away from Destroy is actually just him telling us exactly what happens if we pick Destroy.

Exactly.  The choices all carry the weight of sacrifice of one thing or another, because Shepard doesn't control the fabric of reality.  Everything the Reapers have done and everything organics throughout history have done in response to them, it all falls on Shepard's shoulders in the end.  He's got to clean up everyone else's mess, so of course his options will be limited.  The Crucible is the best of a bad situation, and the only way forward.  There is no wrong choice in using it.

Concept? like indoctrination? Thats what Iam talking about anyway. Destroy is the only one preventing the reapers from taking your mind.

If you go back and listen to him he tries to point you away from it. Listen to his voice as well as his exact words.

no, what I'm saying if that if one of them is a lie, the odds are greater than they're all lies. a single lie is massively important...no reason to tell you the truth at all, and they're all bad.

My second-playthrough-Shepard contemplated that very thing while belly-flopping into the synthesis beam.  Conclusion he came to was "In the end, we all deserve the right to make our own future, and though the Reapers deserve death, not at the cost of my synthetic friends and-"  That's as far as he got before the green stuff happened.  It's all about multi-tasking.

This has nothing to do with edi. TIM did not get those eyes from the crucible, so why is Shepard getting the same exact eyes from the crucible? This ONLY happends with control and synthesis. Synthesis SHOULD turn your eyes green but it does not with shepard...it makes it the illusive mans eyes.

EDI has the same eyes as TIM. So does renegade Shepard, just upsidedown.
