Look, you know the rules.

You can commit horrible acts of violence; you can graphically rip someones lower intestines out while their children watch; you can eviscerate, decapitate, lacerate and exenterate .. you can butcher in the most hideous and inhuman manner, inflicting incomprehensible pain and suffering on the pixellated minions that are yours to maliciously abuse.

BUT YOU CANNOT SEE BOOBS.

That's what I always found confusing about northern-american movies and games.

In Europe it's vice versa, at least in the movies and in TV.
Boobs, pubic har, sex-scenes - no problem.
Just when it comes to excessive violence, the youth-protection is very quick on board.
Which can be quite extreme sometimes. There are movies being indexed and scenes being cut out for which reason ever (at least I din't get the reason). BUT it's just about violence. As long as the sex-scenes are not classified as pornography, nearly everything is allowed.

Quite funny that it's completely vice versa if you cross the Atlantic ocean.

UK born and bred here; I am familiar with euroboobage, and I concur with your befuddlement at the US' attitudes to sex and violence.

Are you talking about the "Video Nasties"? Yeah, I noticed that, too. It's kinda weird.

Actually sex scenes in films are even worse.

People wear pads over their genitals at least in the United States.

It's a weird experience seeing that on set.

With major actors.

Boobs.

Ah yes, "boobs" the supposed mamary glands of human females being present in a video game.  We have dismissed this claim.

Hey surprise. You don't need to see everything.

Besides the sex scenes in Bioware games are not very realistic. Sex is never, ever that graceful.

EVER.

Truth and wisdom.

But I don't think there was anything outrageous about The Witcher.  It's a game for mature audiences.  Be mature about it.  Movies have sex scenes with nudity all the time.  I think that many game developers avoid showing nudity in games because a lot of people, especially certain media outlets, still see video games as "for kids."  No one wants to be the person that Faux News calls out as "pushing porn on kids."  Bioware already was on the receiving end of that one.

I'm not saying that every game needs to have a graphic sex scene, but at the level that video games are at now, it should be no different than including nudity in a movie.

Agreed, even though we are on two different ends of the spectrum.

THIS (although unfortunately here in the UK we tend a bit further towards the US way than the rest of mainland europe).

The vibe I always get off US games/TV shows/Movies in this regard is:
You want to see someone being shot, stabbed and fed through a meat grinder whilst still alive - certainly sir!
You want to see nudity - YOU DISGUST ME!

It's perplexing, it really is.

If you don't romance anyone. I want to see Shep stare intensely with a wicked smile at his/her right hand and fade to black... followed by him/her screaming "I am master of my ship".

America has "Puritanical Roots" unfortunately.  When those sexually repressed knuckleheads stepped of the boats centuries looking to practice a religion in a way that is extreme even by today's standards. The thought that Sex was the ultimate sin, so it was only allowed for procreation and never meant to be enjoyed. Violence on the other hand was used to convert other people to your way of thinking.

So, 4 centuries later, we have a society that tries to repress any sexual desires and suppress any sexual content. Interestingly enough that makes people want to be more violent, which is completely allowed if not encouraged.

I don't care because I have a hot wife. The romance dialog throughout ME3 was improved from Me2 and Me1, and that's the only thing that really matters. If you care about sex so much, get a real life and stop worrying about a videogame love scene.

Excuse me, I'm sure everyone in this board has a real life and women/men who they have tons of hot, sweaty sex with naturally, there's no reason to put everyone down, that is unless you are projecting your inner problems. It was a simple question that did not require hostility and contempt. Nobody cares that you have a "hot" wife or about your love life with said "hot" wife. Remember, "hot" is subjective; in the early 1990's Tom Arnold thought Roseanne was "hot".

Speak for yourself, pal.

Getting back on topic, I wouldn't mind ME1-style scenes. I think that's showing enough and is consistent with the overall tone of the series.

Bummer... I think you were only scratching the surface of some deeper issues about sexuality. It would be an interesting conversation since we are all adults here.

But, that is your choice... lock away then.

Best romance scene was in ME1. Though it was rendered same for both sheps with only minor difference for Kaidan\\fem or Ash\\bro. It had....something, it had passion and a bit of art. And it also had more inner logic, to be honest. And you could make a dialogue of your own, not just watch autospeeech... And they also took off their underwear...I can't imagine femShep (or myself or any other woman) who had a hot night and then put on bra and pants just before falling asleep in her man's arms. Artists could censore her with a blanket or his\\her hands or something, or chose angles where nothing "special" is visible.

ps: oh, and Kaidan put on his underwear back before sleeping too...

Okay. So you don't have a life nor a woman/man that you can make love with? I just didn't like the way that he made his point. It was ridiculous. If you don't, there's no worry/problem there, man.

I wanna go into detail on the traynor sex scene

You walk in the shower to see her using it and you start talking sexy.

Shepard: Well I was wondering where I left my panties.
Traynor: I suppose you want them back, just know I will put up a fight.
Shepard: I bet you will
Traynor: Though it is getting pretty moist
Shepard: They might just slide off if you don't be careful
Traynor: Maybe you should reassert them

This plays out into the love making.
Traynor has shepard leaning into the corner of the shower with her right hand holding traynor head and the left hand holding onto a railing while Traynor is on her knee's pleasuring shepard, Once traynor is finished she rises and starts kissing Shepard.

Shepard returns the flavor, now the two of them are on the floor and shepard goes down on Traynor, Traynor moans passionately as Traynor spreads her had through shepard's hair.
Shepard then hovers over Trayor and kisses her while shepard's left hand is leaning on the floor and the right hand is in Traynor's Vagina.

Then this plays out on the bed with the both of them all hot and sweaty in the silk sheets, kissing and fingering.

It's a bummer, but this is not the way I originally intended the thread to go. We get immature jokes of "my wife is so hot!", and childish interactions such as that. I wanted a conversation aimed more toward my original post and thought: "If you were in charge of the writing and preperation of the ME3 sex scene, how would you craft it?" It's a simple question that requires just a simple paragraph. Posted Image

Fox news would be sick just looking at this intimate scene related thread in a video-game related forum. :P
It was Fox news that got all touchy with ME1 right?

Video game characters getting it on is more silly than sensual. Nothing takes me out of the moment more than all that clipping. Really don't need to see any "grinding", that's for sure. Maybe it's because I don't self-insert as Shepard, but it feels too personal to be watching Shepard and the LI goin' at it. Indiscreet, or something. Intrusive. Make sense?
