What class would be best for Dalish armour?
I quite like the look of it, however I noticed it was "leather"- I tend to roll more of a (light armoured) berserker-warrior in RPG's. So is it doable or will I get killed more often then  I should. I am also planning to make an Elf.

I was going to post this in the builds section, but I don't want any spoilers.

It depends: on what difficulty level you are playing at and on your build. It's easier to survive on Casual/Easy than it is on Nightmare; you have more slack for doing things that look cool that maybe aren't the min/max optimal.

Builds: I ran a Dalish rogue archer through the game, and Awakening, in various suits of plain, nonmagical Dalish leather armor. She was a Str/Dex build (because I suck at min/max optimization unless I'm being paid to do the analysis) and IIRC, didn't die once in DAO on PC-Normal difficulty. (But it was my 5th PT, though, so I knew most of the fights by then.) Of course, she *was* an archer, but ended up in melee with daggers on a rather frequent basis, and took out the Archdemon with an axe. (A *Dalish* axe, thankyouverymuch. She was a bit fussy.)

A Str/Con build for your more typical warrior sort... I don't know how well it would work. The high Dex just plain keeps you from getting hit.

You can also play a Surana (mage elf) and wear light armor, if you just like the look of it. You won't get the pluses that magical robes will give you, but as a mage you're hoping to not get hit much anyway.

If playing on the easier settings, you should be ok to run a dual wield dalish warrior. I'd suggest pumping STR and DEX only. You'll need a higher DEX to avoid being hit so much, but you'll also need STR to hit for damage. Berserker adds damage, so you'll definitely want that. I know some people run high DEX warriors that use daggers, but I also think that they get enough STR to equip the massive armors. I could be wrong about that though.

A "tank" rogue would probably be what you're aiming for. And I agree that the stats you'd want to focus on most are str/dex. You'll want high strength so you can do max damage and high dexterity so you can hit what you're aiming for. It also wouldn't be a bad idea to put a few points in constitution from time to time, although in this particular game, health goes up every time you level. You'll also want the high strength because some of the better light/medium armors have a strength requirement.

You don't need strength if you use a dagger just pump Dexterity. You can use a dagger on Warriors and Rogues if you want to.
