First, let me say I support this. PS3 got shortchanged in the beginning, and now they are being compensated. This is fair. I do not think it is unfair to us Xbox and PC players who "worked so hard" to get the commendation packs.

HOWEVER, I do think this is pretty unfair to those of us on Xbox and PC that were unable to do the challenge. For example, I didn't even have the game when operation goliath was out, nor did I have any clue that operation goliath was even going on. So for us, waiting just a little bit to spend our money cost us a commendation pack? So I should have gone out and bought a PS3 and this game for it? Because honestly PS3 players could have bought the game right before the freaking operation exorcist and still be fine as far as not missing anything.

So Bioware, why not level the playing field? It is unfortunate that Sony is so stingy with its policies and I respect that their players are being compensated, however, if you're making those packs freebies to PS3 players, why not make them freebies to everyone else (as in, those who weren't able to do the first two operations). Just unlock goliath and raptor for everyone who doesn't have them unlocked.

your mudding the waters here.
the fact we ps3 owners wanted to be a part  and were blocked. i dont feal sorry for xbox and pc owners who did not take part in the events. you picked not to take part and you should live with it. i do feal sorry for the xbox and pc owners who toke part and still have not gotten there packs.

Opened first pack, boom: Valiant I. Opened second pack, BOOM: Valiant II. Did they just have a lot of these laying around back at Alliance hq or something? Not complaining!

Same here. What a terrific surprise. I'm already playing a whole lot more infiltrator than I usually do, just to make good use of this gun.

I may never get a BW, but I'll always have my shiny Valiant II.

Yes I realize it sucks, and I do think that all of you getting these packs free is fair compensation.

And not feeling sorry for those who CHOSE not to take part in the events is natural. I don't blame you one bit. That doesn't change the fact that it is still unfair for those Xbox/PC players that were PHYSICALLY UNABLE to take part in the event.

I really feel like PS3 players are taking a certain prejudice here because of certain Xbox 360 and PC users who brushed aside PS3 players. I personally thought it was bs you guys couldn't participate. And I'm glad you guys got compensated.

However, that doesn't change the fact that there are plenty of PS3 players who bought the game later and are getting their commendation packs free. Why not just level the playing field for everyone if that's the case?

And to the person that quoted me earlier in the thread, yes it is my fault that I decided not to buy the game at launch and wait for my paycheck. Terrible financial decision.

I'm not asking for sympathy here. I'm just asking for fairness, given that commendation packs are so desperately low in number as it is, one is pretty much a diamond.

Simply put, they did not work for them, give them some extra events, dont outright give them for free. as some people said, people playing 360/PC had to work for them. PS3 users getting those for free is disgusting way to treat 2/3 customer bases.

The difference is they had the OPTION to try for these; we did not.

As it turns out some could not participate due to technical issues at BioWare/EA part and even some who participated did no get their packs.

BioWare was lazy and instead of repeating the events on PS3 (its not like events are weekly anyway), they decided to do it the easy way. The complaints were to be expected, because the very concept of giving someone something for free while others have to earn it is wrong.

It was also wrong that we had to sit around and watch as everyone else enjoyed these weekend events.  And you know what they say, two wrongs make a right.

Personally, I feel for people on PC/360 who couldn't complete the challenges, or did so and didn't get their packs.  Really, I do.  However I didn't go around ****ing and moaning that I couldn't participate during these events even though it sucked to see everyone talking about their packs and N7 weapons, and the vast majority of PC/360 players could have cared less about the PS3's problems.  So, in kind, I'm going to happily enjoy my shiny Valiant II and not be concerned about the naysayers.

I should make a petition for putting the theme song of ¨the price is right¨ everytime you open a pack from the store. When you get something crappy the famous losing sound comes up as well. #BobBarkerForever

Okay, here's my response.
1) Would you rather that all of the PSN players were left with nothing because they couldn't play?
2) I'm sorry, how is it disgusting? Doing a nice thing for the people who couldn't do the challenges, through no fault of their own, is disgusting.
3) This doesn't actually hurt you. I really don't see how this could be a problem.
4) If it makes you feel any better, now people on PSN who don't have the game, or refuse to take part in the ,challenges now get nothing other than the Squad goal.
5) To be brutally honest, you're making a mountain out of a molehill. A Ccompany does a nice thing for one of the user bases, and you condemn them for doing so.
6) Had you been on Playstation, I highly doubt that you would have an issue with this, unless you're that willing to have an issue with a company doing a nice thing.

I think it's quite fair because the PS3 owners suffered not only from not able to take part in the events, but they still don't have Mass Effect 1 either...

Some didnt work for them, the requirements for getting the commendation packs where usually Gold Extractions which in time of the Xbox 360/PC events a lot of PS3 players accomplished and werent rewarded. The ones that didnt deserved them where new players who cant play gold still.

Adding another event is a bad idea, we already experience problems with the bi-weekly events adding another would cause even more time consuming problems which I doubt everyone wants.  Its true some people got the packs without earning them but if its what it took for PS3 players who actually completed the events to get the packs I see no problem with it and Xbox 360/PC players shouldnt be bothered by this minor issue.

Yes, as long as the battlefield is unlevel, someone has a right to argue.

Though, as far as Xbox/PC players doing all the work, I still don't support that argument really, that's kinda trivial. My qualm is I bought the game a day too late to participate in goliath (the day I got my paycheck) and was heavily disappointed, (given I didn't even know about goliath before I got the game, how could I?) and now, since every PS3 player who bought the game later got that pack free, I'd like one too. You want to make it fair to all? Unlock raptor and goliath for everyone.

Yes it is regrettable that PS3 players suffered while not being able to take part in these events. But that is in the past. None of that matters or comes into play right now except the...oh wait a minute...commendation weapons. The proof that you did the event, the only lasting thing that matters from them.

Would I be arguing for this had I had all 3 event packs? Of course not.

Totally baffled by the negative perspectives some of the community are illustrating here.

ME3 has the best community of any online game I've ever played. I've not once met a mean-spirited individual whilst playing, no-one has swore at me or questioned my sexuality. It makes a refreshing change from other games like CoD, where the chances are the first word you'll hear upon entering a lobby will be a rude term used to describe private parts!

Yet on the forum there just seems to be so many people who will get up in arms about virtually anything. I don't understand it.

PS3 players had to sit by for weeks and weeks watching everyone else have the experience of playing in special events and utilising new characters and equipment. You won't understand the crushing disappointment of exclusion unless you are on PS3. The first time I read the post about the first challenge I immediately called my friend and told him to put aside a few hours that weekend. We were stoked. Then I read the small print and realised that we were excluded. My heart sank. I spent hours of my time contacting Sony, doing what little I could to understand the situation.

This went on for some time, and eventually the announcement came that declared we were in on all future events. I was delighted, and happy to be able to contribute towards the communities goals. I never expected us to get 2 commendation packs, but it was a great gesture from BioWare IMHO.

Incidentally, many many PS3 players would have met the Squad Goals for both events. And believe me, if we thought our efforts would have counted we'd have gone bonkers killing Brutes and promoting characters. Heck, I promoted 2 during Raptor just to feel like I was doing my part even though I know it wasn't counted!

I do empathise with those players who did not manage to get the commendation packs, but think that the idea was to recompense PS3 players for missing out on the excitement of the events. BioWare probably should unlock the 2 packs for all users, but imagine that would cause a bit of a nightmare for them going by how difficult awarding all packs to the right players has been thus far.

This is true. I might be arguing for nothing.

And for the record, PS3 players do deserve these packs completely, I don't doubt that.:)

They need to the same thing for those of us that have suffered through the "Black Hole" glitch.

We were (and still are) deprived of the ability to receive Commendation packs through no fault of our own.

http://social.biowar...index/9684873/1

Over two months this problem has existed (since the day after the game was released) and BioWare has apparently done jack about it.  Hell, the last "update" from them was over one month ago and full of BS such as "this is a top priority for us" and "we're investigating it".

http://social.biowar...9684873/1&lf=8

I've been in communication with EA in regards to this and she has informed me that BioWare has been refusing to communicate with them about it as well.

Work? You make it sound like it was extremely hard and unpleasant. It was playing the game with a few goals, it's not like we couldn't be bothered and screamed for prizes we didn't get for being lazy. It was corporate politics, and anyone who was happy to see those with a different console miss out is an ass.

like i said, no challenge given to them, atleast make them go through some extra challenge for their packs. I wasnt being unreasonable or an ass like you. I simply pointed out, give them similar conditions to recieve them, not just handouts.

How would they give packs to people that weren't able to participate without giving it to everyone? needless to say, if they do that then people who did complete the goals will get another 2 commendation packs for free. Then Ps3 players will complain about that, then so on and so on.

Because I'm stupid, before all this fiasco, I tried on my PS3 to do the goals. I did them, but only realised afterwards that it didn't work on PS3. Now I feel much happier because I've got what I feel like I deserve.
