I remember seeing those topics from so far back explaining indepth why that person believed that the indoctrination theory existed, but was that the first mention of it, or was it floating around before that?

Bioware. They made a ending that makes less sense than a hallucination.

Whoever it was has started a new wave of 'true fanism' where only one theory is right and everyone who doesn't subscribe to it is not a true fan of mass effect.

Not a good way for a fandom to act in my opinion, especially with the rise of the 'didn't pick destroy? must not have played the other games' crowd cropping up in the story and campaign section of the forums.

Ranted enough, I'll take my leave now, also lordofdogtown19 probably got it right.

Hints of it in the game. The dreamy weird stuff around the boarder of the screen was the big obvious indicator of something peculiar. Whatever it is The Scooby Doo gang have been examining the whole thing with a fine tooth comb since.

Would you believe that it was originally a much more mild, much less obnoxious alternate interpretation of the ending?

It didn't turn into a conspiracy theory/Bioware apologist haven for at least a day or two after the initial "this endgame is stupid and trippy. Let's pretend it never happened" bout of threads.

I just want to know the first person who ever made mention of Indoctrination as the explanation for the ending.

Whether there were hints of it in the game, is not important.

Bioware putting Reaperized eyes on Shep in 2 of the 3 endings certainly didn't do much to stop that theory.

While at the very least seems they left some of that scrap in the game. Time crunch, deal with it later, future plans, just being artsy... who knows.

Good luck. Who was the guy that first thought drinking white stuff from that disgusting looking thing under a cow, was a great idea?

This is the internet. There's usually a deviant around who knows or is willing to search hours on end for this sort of thing.

Most likley culprit, controls the halluciantion thread, largest and oldest source, might also know who did start it if they aren't the one who did. If this violates site rules tell me and I will delete this post.

Yes, I know of that thread. It's possible that that's the original thread, but I doubt it. It seems a bit weird that someone would be looking for that much evidence first, instead of someone simply saying, "I think the ending was the result of indoctrination" and then finding so much evidence for it.

It has been updated many times. If it wasn't the first it was very close to it.
