Bad call. Star Wars: The Old Republic has failed as a subscription MMO experiment. The marketplace has spoken with 25% reduction. Taking the DA3 development staff and refocusing them on The Old Republic is a mistake.
That said, I'm glad that original projections for DA3 was a winter 2013 release and not a rush job, like DA2. We can probably thank Skyrim for setting the bar higher, Witcher 2 for showing how decisions can be more impacting and - dare I hope - Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning for breaking out of the "choose a class" mold and combat thats a little better than button mashing.
It would seem that Bioware is committed to putting DA3 alot any list of RPGs, a place they lost with DA2. So, while I might be bummed out at the time frame, the length of time they're taking seems to be a committment to quality and not a rush to marketplace for the sake of revenue.

Really? They're nearly always correct. This is the same analyst who broke the news that DA2 DLC was being abandoned, before Bioware confirmed it. He has rock solid industry sources from which his information is drawn.packardbell wrote...
You do realize this is an analysts opinion? They are rarely correct.
I'm not bothered by waiting nearly two more years if it means a better product. DA2 was a shameful rush to market. The only thing I have a problem with is reassigning developers to another failed product.

Anyone who had an ounce of common sense knew work on DA2 content was stopped after no new content months after MOTA. It doesn't make sense for them to reshuffle devs around after a product has gone live, in development maybe but not after.

Da3 has not been officially annouched yet,so there is no release date to delay. Would EA comment on the delay of a game that '' technically '' does not exist? It seems to me that ( if it was da3) it would have been better to keep quiet about it seeing as no one know anything about the game.
What about Crysis 3 ,Simcity, Command and conquer? Those are also games thats to be releasede next year.

Thats a good point, there would be no point in announcing it if it was DA3 since there's so little known about its development. EA have loads of games coming out in the next couple of years that could be considered as heavy hitters.

EA stated that ''The "game '' has been delayed part because of cost. It's a major game.''
I dont see how that translate to ''Bioware delays da3 to work on SWTOR''

Or maybe we can thank the fan backlash for both DA2 and ME3 which have both been bad for DA2's and ME3's sales along with Bioware's reputation.
So long as Dragon Age 3 gets as long as it needs to be good then I couldn't care if it's delayed to late 2013 or 2014 or whatever.

Anyways from the money and workforce side they sould be able to deliver a high profile game in 2 yrs , so my guess is 2013 2nd quater. Now the real Questionmark is what are the executive producers plan to do do with it ...all shiny and gloom with not so much in it or less of that and a ****storm of a story.
hope dies at last friends

No way in hell. That kind of schedule would be another crappy product and the death of the franchise.Ryllen Laerth Kriel wrote...
Thank goodness, let's hope they craft it this time instead of manufacturing it.
