I don't mind the more sexual Jack in ME3. Afterall, if you romanced her in ME2 you really took your time with her. The big romance scene before the suicide run implies you don't even have sex so I thought it was perfectly natural that she felt comfortable with Shep at this point to be friskier.

Plus, I mean, a woman has needs...

But yeah, I was/am colossally disappointed with the way in which Jack's romance was handled in this game. I thought romancing her in ME2 was one of the most emotionally rewarding aspects of the whole trilogy. Once you finally break through her armor you get to see the real Jack. I got the sense that this was something very few people have ever seen and it really affected me. So much so that I left Liara in the dust and never looked back.

But I wanted more of that in ME3. The Grissom Academy mission gets your relationship off to a GREAT start. Things are frisky, a little tense and surprisingly sweet. It seemed like it was setting itself up to be the perfect evolution of your relationship. And then that's pretty much all you get (save for Purgatory).

At the very least, BioWare could've had Jack come and visit the Normandy one damn time. Maybe before you assault the Cerberus base she could've stopped by for moral support.

And honestly, I want to know what happens to us AFTER the damn game. His relationship with Jack was my Shepard's personal stake in stopping the Reapers and, at the end, there's absolutely no catharsis for this. This is true of everyone's relationship, but it feels worse with her because there's so little romantic content to begin with.

Fingers crossed for SOMETHING in the EC.

I have another Shepard that I haven't imported yet who romanced Miranda. From what I hear her romance is only marginally better.

You get more Jack action if she's a phantom. Kick in the quads to Jackaholics.

There should be more ****ing when trying to save the galaxy because there may be no more ****ing in the end. Whatever ****ing is.

I just wanted to touch on something a poster said earlier in the topic. I was also annoyed at how many times Liara referred to Shepard as a friend in ME3 if you romanced her in the previous games. I romanced her in ME1 and again in the LOTSB dlc in ME2. We had the talk about marriage and little blue children. What the hell kind of friends does she have if that's what she considers simply friendship?

She went from emotional breakthrough to "dick, dick, dick, dick, I want dick".

Did you skip Grissom Academy?  Because she grew a lot more than you're implying here.  I realize yer mad that you couldn't get any, but the reality is, she grew a lot in the time between the SM and Grissom.

If you romanced Kaiden from ME1, stayed faithful in ME2 and continued kissing his a** in ME3 he and Shepard sleep together before priority earth. I was surprised to hear him tell my femshep "You should have woke me up". This conversation happened while he played poker with Vega. So...

Femshep = Winning!

I agree OP jacks romance arc was incomplete..It would have been fine with out a sex scene but what was needed, was at least a holo call when the normandy hooks up with the fleet before the earth mission. A holo call with a convo wheel.

All of the romances sucked from Mass Effect 2 to Mass Effect 3. You died in the beginning of Mass Effect 2, and your LI from Mass Effect 1 did not move on. You were awaiting trial, and all of LIs gave up on you, or ask where you stand. It was only six months. Are deployments in the future shorter, or has technology gotten so crazy that future generations are bunch of insecure freaks? I can't reach Shepard! Oh no, that means Shepard must not want to be in relationship with me.

Subtract the kiss and a couple lines and it's as if you didn't romance her at all.

Ya, it really does suck for those who romanced ME2 people (besides Tali and Garrus, but as they are ME3 squadmates they did not get screwed) and I feel for ya.

Something in this thread that did suprise we however, was that apparently Liara did not have many LI specific content and just treated Shepard as a friends for most of the game (I had assumed otherwise, judging by how favored Liara is sometimes).

The reason I am surprised, it because Tali had a bunch of LI specific dialogue, with nearly every single conversation having atleast a line or two that was different from when she was romanced or not.

In fact, I can list them
  • When you first meet up with Tali in ME3 (mentions your relationships, talk how it may devide the quarian fleet if they found out an admiral was with a human, and she reiterates that is was "still totally worth it")
  • Invite Tali up to cabin (reaffirm romance status)
  • Geth Dreadnaught (several instanced of romance specific dialogue, mostly flirting between Shepard and Tali)
  • When Tali is talking to Javik, he aludes to the fact that he knows Shepard has seen Tali's face
  • Geth Concensus missions, when Shepard asks why the quarians in the memories are in their suits, to which legion asked "how many quarians have you seen outside their suits?" Shepard responds with "Well, one actually"
  • Rannoch mission. (Right before fighting the Reaper with Tali saying "I love you" and Shepard responding with "Keehla Se'lia" and then the at the end (after peace or side with quarians) the talk on the cliff is very different then normal and completely romance related)
  • Talking to Tali after Thessia Mission  when she reasures Shepard that they can still win (Added line of "and if thats not enough, you're the man I love. Remember that, no mater what happens")
  • Drunk scene (a extra little exchange is added)
  • Plus all the obvious ones (Romance scene, goodbye nefore final push on earth, evac scene, etc)

To be fair, six months is a long time of no-contact so being a little insecure or worried is completely normal. Also, the events from the beginning of ME2 til the end of canon Arrival spanned 3.5 years (basically 1.5 years after meeting on Horizon). I think being a bit insecure in a relationship where the guy or girl never bothers to contact for so long is hardly a thing that should be criticized.

Maybe that's because Samara is not a romance.
