I think there might be something wrong with the game. In my game, Jacob was dead, and because of that, he didn't appear during the story. Same with Samara. You should probably try and reinstall the game, or maybe get a new copy.

Well i sold the the intact Geth, killed the last Rachni queen and destroyed the Collector base, and those seemingly pretty major things didn't impact the narrative at all.

Yeah and I coulda sworn I noticed some tension between me, Ashley, and Tali.  I thought it had something to do with the fact that I romanced them both in previous games, but since our choices don't matter it must have been a coincidence.

heh my first play through I didn't romance anyone. I messed with them, but nothing solid. it was to well robotic, like allot of the encounters. Most times it seems shepard is interviewing or interrogating everyone he/she is talking to.

Most of the so called LI were rather cold when you talk to them and for a romance to even remotely be worth a crap you need to talk to them more then a couple times.

Also who every come up with these romances definitely wasn't a woman, if it was then she needs to read a few romance novels. The only one that even remotely made any sense was jack. a completely emotional wreck is an easy target and can backfire specially since she could rip you in half with her mind if you ****** her off.

Yes, we should all look to romance novels for quality writing.

So on my pre-insanity run I decided to stay faithful to Jack. So I meet her on Grissom Academy (With Liara who I romanced in 1 and said nothing) and she kisses on Shepard and gives a few lines. Then later I meet her at Purgatory, talk a little then we dance. Then nothing until the end of the game when you com her and all she says is she wants to get laid afterward...

That is all. Wow, so rewarding. Keep up the great work Bioware! Can't wait to play my Miranda romance ShepardPosted Image

Its all about you treat her and she's still the same character, which really shouldn't be a surprise.

You are right ME is about the story and LIs are normally optional in most RPGs like in all of the Bioware games.

I always stay faithful to Liara on my Shepard, so all I've seen are the videos for the other romance options. All the romances from the ME2 crew (excluding Tali & Garrus) in ME3 were pretty weak and poorly handled. Jacob's one having to be the absolute worst.

And what about those that romanced Harbinger in ME2 ?
I have never seen the continuation of this affair:

ME2 and VS romancers got screwed. Thanks BioWare, you're freaking awesome.

Hey hey hey. Garrus had the best romance in the series. :D

Damn straight! What I wouldn't give to find a guy like him in real life....

I kinda get it though.  I mean, with Jack's emotional unpredictability it makes sense for a relationship to suddenly bloom if you play your cards right, but for a lot of the others, Liara and Ashley especially, you meet them, have a few conversations, maybe say a few nice things, and all of a sudden these very independant women just sorta fall on your d**k.  Speaking purely from the perspective of male Shepard, I mean.

Ya some of the LI interactions were weak as all hell from what I've seen... Luckily wasn't disapointed with Liara, although I haven't been able to go through with any other LI's on other Shep playthroughs because of that damn ending... God I can't do it again.

I was really disappointed with Liara's romance. "You're a good friend, Shepard." Good friend? GOOD MOTERF***ING FRIEND!?!? Biatch, we were talking about marriage and kids not 6 months ago. This should be the point where Liara and Shep share a freaking bed. I'm not talking about sex, I'm talking about living together like 2 consenting adults do. And the reason for this? Well, there is none. I'm importing a file with a relationship with Liara across both previous games. I'm not being locked out of content by sticking with her. I wanted that from the get-go. If not, I wouldn't have imported that save. What's my other option? Suddenly pounce on Ashley or turn gay for craps and giggles? Yeah, because either of those make any sense.

Don't get me wrong, I have no objection to gay people. I think Cortez was fairly well written, and my dad's best friend for longer than I've been around is gay. Him and his s/o might as well be my uncles. But I'm not. I was loyal to the character I had an actual emotional attachment too. Why the hell was that pissed on? WHY, BIOWARE?

I agree completely.  The romances were all half assed but the ME2 romances got the steaming pile of **** treatment.

Liara falls for you quickly, it's true. But it's possible that this is because of the mind-melding. It certainly seems like her main attraction to Shepard at the beginning of their acquaintence was his incredible mental strength to be able to endure the information the beacon deposited in his brain.

Still, I prefer romances that take awhile, which is why I like the Tali romance more. But there are girls out there that fall head over heels pretty quickly, just like some take awhile.

Man, the more I read these threads the more pissed off I get. I mean, I didn't even romance Jack/Thane/Miranda or, god forbid...Jacob...but seeing how poorly they were handled just royally pisses me off. I just can't believe that Bioware would be so...lazy, for lack of a better term.
Well, if you romanced an ME2 character (Besides Garrus and Tali. And thank God Tali was done well, or else I would have gone insane) I feel for you guys.

Now excuse me while I go punch a couple holes in my wall...

Yesterday, I started playing with one char who had "romanced" Jack successfully in ME2, and was quite taken with the kiss from Jack at Grissom especially the cheer squad on the balcony! Then on the way back in the shuttle again a well done scene with Jack.
But what I am gathering from this thread, Is that apart from Purgatory dance scene that is all you get from Jack. No final scene? like with the others, that is not fair.
I have only played thru with Liara, Kaiden and Tali as romanced characters, I thought bioware handled Kaiden well up to my early meeting with Jack at Grissom. This was done really well but I expected more from Jack later in the lastnight scene. If this is not going to happen I would be really peeved cause this is the only reason that I am playing thru with this particular Shep. And this Shep is the only one I have who did romance Jack in ME2. anyway .....

It certainly seems lazy from the outside. I'm hoping something different was going on on the inside, though. Something that would provide an explanation other than "they just didn't care about those characters."

So true! She had such great character development as a LI in ME2. Then somehow just forgot all that come ME3.

Apparently one of the writers actually said that they forgot about Jacob romance until a couple of months prior to going gold. Or was it Thane, can't remember, one of the two. However, I don't think it's laziness. The BioWare team would have worked their asses off to get the game out in time. It's ****ing EA and their ****fist deadlines. Seriously you guys have annual releases with all your sport games. Fifa, in itself would be a multi-million dollar selling game world-wide. Yet you still feel the need to infest RPG games (which need much more time to develop) with your disgustingly short timeframes. All so you can turn a profit. I ****ing hate what EA did to my favourite game series.
