Sorry guys, sorry, I know this topic has existed before but I am just listening to the ME3 OST as I lurk the forum and I have to reiterate how beautiful it is. Listen to to "Future for the Krogan" on a system with decent bass and you will be awed no matter what.

Ok, so in order to be a bit constructive as well, I just want to link "Reignite" to you. I just discovered it yesterday after watching Ownaholic's new IT video (long but well worth watching, too). Some of you may know the singers reinterpretation of some songs from TES Skyrin and IMO she has done a wonderful job on Mass Effect as well.

So, just wanted to share because I haven't seen this on the boards before (although it probably was around at some point).
Cheers!

Agree, musics and soundworks are (probably) the best part of the game. I liked ME1&2 ST, but in ME3 I often found myself actually listening to themes and tunes, and there were a lot of moments where I noted its quality. Wish I could say same thing about rest of the game...

For some reason the music of ME3 just isn't as good to me. I can barely hear it even during the game.

Oh yes, totally forgot about that one. I heard it a couple of weeks back. Thanks for linking.

@Nrieh: Agreed. I also like the ME1 and ME2 OSTs but ME3 just went the extra mile IMO.

The only thing I actually don't like is the mix. Has anyone else noticed that they seem to dial the music back for sound effects? If they did it in the forst two games as well I never noticed but in ME3 it stands out sometimes (from the top of my head, I can name the reaper confrontation on Rannoch and the moment when Hammer moves out of the FOB). A shame really. Maybe they should have dialled back that effect. If we can do it through an ini or something, please let me know (coalesced anyone?).

I wasn't as nearly impressed with the ME3 soundtrack I was with ME2.

I'm kind of the other way around.  ME2 was good but it never really latched on to me like ME3's music does.

And in a silly way, I still here the cheesy elevator music from ME1 in my head when I am waiting in line in RL or riding our slow-poke elevators at work.
Bum pa-da, bum-pa, bum pa.
No one will ever call it an inspiring piece of work, but in it's way it fit perfectly.

Part of the issue for me is that there is a lot missing on the CE soundtrack that is in the game. Instead of extending some of the songs, even if its repetative, most are left around  2-3 minutes in length. I like that ME2 have some around the 7-8 minute mark, and I could listen to endless loops of the Overlord and LOTSB sound tracks, since they were cut pretty short as well. Someone posted an awesome youtube link to extended cuts of all 3 sound tracks, I'll have to dig it up when I'm not at work.

@Luder09: I see, you mean the soundtracks themselves. I was more thinking along the lines of the music itself. You may be right there although I think I personally listened to the ME2 soundtrack once while I can listen to the ME3 one time and time again. The only song in ME2 that really grabbed me is the 'suicide mission' one..
