Too bad the ceo didn't realize that in games where combat is essential you don't want to give your customers karpal tunnel syndrome. I tried a number of times to play the witcher but the combat was too horrific for me. I hear it's a great game other wise.

Then you didn't play The witcher 2. Combat Is awesome, and one of its strong points

I'm hearing a lot of good things about CD Projekt, unlike Bioware.

When 99 out of 100 people say one thing and you barge in to state that what the 99 said is false without any reasoning and pose it as a fact......yeah that's 100% verified trolling not just a different opinion.

HiddenKing posed his opinion as fact? Show me the quote. I'll wait.

Deservedly so - the Witcher 2 is a very good game... notice I did not say great but its good  very enjoyable.  The world is rather interesting but I felt that Chapter 3  was kinda streamline over all I would honest recommend  the game.

Here you go....no consideration of the fact most people disagree, zero reasoning an no room for other opinions in his statement....

Simply because it’s a truly great RPG game with an incredible highly
non-linear story, a vast living and breathing world, and what some RPGs
have lacked recently: your decisions really matter and have consequences
throughout the whole game.

I deffinitely call it great....even amazing. There are extremely few games that have that kind of in-depth choice and consequence system and branching with plenty of endings to reflect all these possibilities. Consider me very impressed.

We actually went so far in Witcher 2 that, depending on the player’s choice in Chapter One there are two totally different versions of Chapter Two, two different locations and two different storylines.

I'll reserve my  judgements and showering praises until  the Witcher 3 and see how the expanded from the Witcher 2.

Ew no. It's god of war without the badass. Geralt also forgot how to use a sword between the games.

Which? As far as I know, they've only made The Witcher 1 &2.

if suddenly, after 100+ of hours and few instalments of the series you find out that whatever you did throughout this whole time, whatever choices you made, the end is the same, well, I think that disappointment is understandable. It clearly shows that gamers expect, that their choices in the RPGs they play are really meaningful

There are no words in the English language that adequately express how much I agree with this statement.

This quote should be printed, framed, and hung on the wall of every developer who claims to make RPGs, in a place where they can see it every day.

Now give us Witcher 3! Image IPB

It's called demanding the player learns to play the game. If you want spoon-feeding and handholding then The Witcher 2 is not for you.

On another note, it's nice to see someone in a high position in the industry actually understand what happened here. EA executives certainly seem to be in complete denial.

CD Projekt is better work hard to improve their combat and dialogue systems before critisize some other AAA games.

...And ME3 inventory system is great actually. I hate free re-gear in other games.  Ability to re-gear in the middle of the combat looks as silly as 2-handed-sword drops from tiny bat mobs.

Obsidian is easily the equal to both of these companies when it comes to story, if not better in some ways

(I'm aware their games often ship with more bugs in them than a 1980s sofa from Kathmandu)

Whoa.

If I wanted to troll I would, but The Witcher games are average games. Mostly cuz it has a completely unlikable protagonist that your stuck with, and a uninterestin world and tons of issues that you find if you're not immersed. It's just not ever any fun.

I and several other people in this thread disagree with you.

Those who want to do nothing but stack petty half truths against the series YOUR LOSS. The game is great fun, the rest of us will be enjoying it regardless of your ignorance

See, it's stuff like this that turns me off. Needless insults.

I only say ignorance because the majority of those who don't see beyond sex cards and sex have never played the campaign in Witcher 2. Thus they are ignorant to the game.

BMX XXX had nudity and it was terrible. Witcher 2 has nudity and its great.
If the core game wasent phenomenal nobody would care about it...not even Dave Mirra

CDP did a playboy shoot for Triss.

You can buy the magazine in Poland, and you might be able to get it shipped to the US, if you're desperate enough to try.

The sex cards of Witcher 1 was not exactly a high point, the same goes for the "playboy shoot".
Sleazy and cheap.

It does seem like CDPr have a problem with gender stereotypes, and so on, but I think the sexual nudity in Witcher 2 was OK as it was not forced, but integrated well in the story. The game itself seems to aim towards giving the player a "fuller" experience of what it means being Geralt, and that of course involves some sexual nudity.

Anyway, Witcher 2 is a great game. Yes, its better than ME3 and DA2, despite its faults (like combat, combat movement, gender stereotypes etc).

That's how they promote games in Poland!

Also, why is inventory management an essential part of rpgs? I've managed my inventory more in RE4 than any rpg I've ever played.
