I hope EA doesn't consider buying Projekt CD. That would be the last straw of straws. There would be no more straws to grasp after that.

CD Prokekt Red is a Polish company owned by CD Projekt Sp. z o.o..

I think it would be quite difficult for EA to buy them.

It's not like the Witcher 1 and 2 didn't both need an extended edition to truly fulfill their potential. Bioware is doing that, so everyone should go their merry way, right?

I didn't know Bioware was adding hours upon hours of extra content and gameplay mechanics, fixes, etc, for free, without being forced.

We don't know what Bioware is doing yet.  What if the EC doesn't turn out to be what we expected?  I think it will be good but who the hell knows?

CD Projekt promised 16 endings before Witcher 2 was released in 2011.

But when people got to the ending, it made no sense, nothing was answered and there was no closure. And the dragon was a bit lame, apparently.

So, they revised the ending and made 10 more gigs of content.

Too bad the ceo didn't realize that in games where combat is essential you don't want to give your customers karpal tunnel syndrome. I tried a number of times to play the witcher but the combat was too horrific for me. I hear it's a great game other wise.

The combat isn't supposed to be easy and simple.

They don't hold your hand like too many games do nowadays.

Well, we don't know why BW keeps being tight-lipped about it then?
CD Projekt was pretty informative about what they will do in much more detail right after Enhanced Edition was announced.

They have positive critical aclaim, release enhanced version of games for the fans and take a poke at the endings... I might just go and give CD Projekt some of my money...

Except they did it to make the games better, not because there was massive fan outcry about them being ****. By and large people were pleased with both games.

The extended editions for witcher 1/2 made great games amazing. The EC for ME3 will make an awful ending hopefully less awful (unless all they do is "clarify").

Wait, the CEO of CD Projekt Red saying his company is better? STOP THE PRESSES!
Also, why is inventory management an essential part of rpgs? I've managed my inventory more in RE4 than any rpg I've ever played.

Well, I managed it far more in Mass Effect (with irony).

Does swearing because you have to break down the geth weapon you finally managed to get as a drop because you reached the abitrary limit of weapons and armor you can have count? In my opinion, ME2+3 does much better in terms of inventory than the first game did.

A-freakin'-men. I've said it before and I'll keep saying it. When CDPR comes out with its own original IP rather than mining someone else's world for games, then we'll see how sucessful they are, until then, they're a two title company who hasn't really done much of anything on the international gaming stage.

BW also started from using D&D and Star Wars, and kept for pretty long time.
Everybody has to start somewhere. And they actually almost universally better doing at the start, before pride comes into play.

That tells me that you don't understand how it (combat in the game) works. The combat in The Witcher series is unforgiving (on PC). Before heading into battle you should know what you're getting yourself into and prepare; you know, talk to people about the monsters lurking a cave, etc, etc. Now there are times when you’re surprised by combat, but if you're smart about it and use your skill correctly, you'll be fine.

Also, you can't just randomly pick skills for your character to learn, you have to decide what type of character your "hero" will be and build him accordingly. If you try to make him a jack of all trades, he will die ... quickly.

There are no guns to save you from poor planning and / or character devepment.

I guarantee you they'll be successful.  Their first two games have sold very well and they go the extra mile for gamers.  They provide them with a lot of value for thier money.  I only paid $10 for the first Witcher.  That's a hell of a value.  Anyone who knocks the Witcher doesn't know what  a good RPG is.

The major difference between ME3's 16 endings and Witcher 2's 16 different endings is:

Witcher's endings are different, literally

The endings weren't very different at first, actually.

Which is where more complaints stemmed from before they changed it up.

Uh, that sounded more like a not-so-subtle promotion for Witcher/Witcher2 than an honest look at ME3's ending (excerpt only). Though I do agree with him, choices are extremely important in an RPG. The fact that bioware's folks specifically said prior to the release of the game that our choices would impact the ending, makes it that much worse that they didn't. Or at least, not to an appreciable extent.

That's what you do when you're asked about someone else's work during an interview that is supposed to help promote your game.

Really, first, where'd you get the Crystal ball which tells you the extended cut will suck?

Second, Witcher 2 really needed an overhaul as the lip flaps did even bother to match the language the VOs were speaking in, the combat was unbalanced for its level, and unless it fixed the stupid "can't use potions in combat" rule, I'm thinking W2 still is going to give me heartburn.

Projekt CD is doing things right.

Went from a no name company to a direct rival to bioware in 2 titles.

While using a Bioware game engine too

They used Bioware's engine in The WItcher 1 and created their own engine for The Witcher 2.

So are we forgetting that CD-Projekt completely ballsed up their ending as well?

I believe that was already established.

And that they did a better job at fixing it.

In point of fact, that's not the issue.  The issue is that Bioware has done so as well.  And let's not forget that CD Projekt corrected their mistake.  I hope that Bioware will as well.

That is true I died so many time fighting Letho last night, but always got closer to beating him.
