Nuff said. You guys were kind enough to give over 3000 replies to my previous survey in March. Now that we know a bit more about the EC, I want to know if it really is the right thing to do to satisfy a majority of the fans, or what more it will take to do so.

I'm trying to keep this as unbiased as possible. Please give me your feedback on what other items you want to have, this is hardly exhaustive. I'm also taking down my sig banners for now, to avoid turning off anyone.

Full disclosure: I'm unabashedly pro-ender, but trying to be as neutral as possible for the sake of this survey. My only aims are to help Bioware make the EC better for everyone, and satisfy my own curiosity.
I am not on EA's payroll or any of their subsidiaries. I do not hold any financial interest within the video game industry.
English is not my native language, so please bear with me, but kindly point out any mistakes or oddities in the survey.

Latest poll findings

New update since a lot of replies from outside BSN have come in. Those are mostly from the LiveJournal ME3 community, and from "Retake ME3". Is the latter a website, or the "Retake" Facebook group?

Latest top options for Part 2:
#1 - Show consequences of blowing up Mass Relays (92%, majority of "detailed explanation")
#2 - Show what happens to the squad while we are on the Cidatel (88%)
#3 - Show war assets in action (83%)
#4 - Tied at 80%: "Explain our choices more" and "Argue with the Catalyst"
#6 - Where does the squad go from now? (78%)

Indoc Special:
60% of people think implementing Indoc Theory would be a good move. Only 19% however, want it to be made canon at all costs. A larger percentage would be satisfied if Bioware just fixed the problems with the ending.

Top options for part 3
#1 - No Fleeing Normandy: 75% think that scene can't be properly explained and it must be cut or strongly altered.
#2 - Cut the StarKid (71%, with a majority wanting to replace him with Harby)
#3 - Do this the hard way: 68% want an option to battle the Reapers conventionally. Only 19% are prepared to accept hard losses in doing so, such as losing the Normandy.

By the way I've just added "More Thane Content" to part 3 due to overwhelming demand. It's a bit late for that but I don't think this will skew the survey too much. The way it looks he's poised to outstrip Jack and Miranda in popular support.

Edit: Using this post as a compendium of my findings so far on the survey results.

After 400 replies 

Here's what I can see for now.
- Still a big bias towards PC users. This is consistent with the German Survey.
- Destroy is by far the most popular ending, but 22% of respondents reject all 3 endings in their current form
- Synthesis is the least popular and 43% go as far as to want it taken out of the game altogether. This is higher than the previous survey.
- The EC has a chance to make over 80% of respondents at least moderately satisfied without stepping over the limits of what Bioware has announced, but the bar is set fairly high: Addressing most of the issues cited in Part 2 seems to be necessary. "Showing our war assets in action" and "explain the impact of destroying mass relays" are both must haves for 95% of respondents!
- 57% of respondents have picked at least least one option in part 3 and would be dissatisfied if it isn't implemented. This is somewhat contradictory with the results just above. May need to rephrase the poll a bit to clarify.
- A lot of people like Indoctrination Theory (62%), but a large percentage think they may not need it if the EC improves the ending in a tasteful way. Only 19% need it made canon no matter what.

 Edit: This was a bit misleading. 66% so far believe in IT. But a lot of these would be satisfied anyway if the EC ending is done tastefully. Only 20% want it made canon no matter what. 

Breaking news!
Xbox users enjoyed the game the most (3.33/5 average). PC users the least (3.20, not a huge spread)
PC users hated the ending the most (1.76/5) with 1 being the lowest score. Ouch! 

600 replies in

- The bar is set high for Bioware: 67% of respondents want at least 10 of the 12 options (originally) proposed in part 2. 27% want ALL of them.
- The reward may be equally high. The satisfaction delta stands a 0.91 point (out of 5) This is the difference between how satisifed people are with the game as it is, versus how satisifed they would be with their choices in Pt 2 implemented.

This last part may not sound like much, but it is of paramount importance! As the graphs show, it is enough for pushing people's overall satisfaction with the game from generally 3-4 territory, squarely into 4-5 territory.

Adding an option for conventional battle (Reject the 3 choices) also gets 77% support. I'm curious, would you guys still want to have that option even if we loose?

I liked the survey and the work put into the clarity of its presentation, but there are several questions with three options that should really have four or five. Some things I think would be helpful to the extended cut and intriguing to see, but they're not necessarily "must-have". When looking at the data objectively, it skews the data towards either proving that the additions would be absolutely crucial or unnecessary---without anything in between.
