FIXED LINK FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T SEE THE SPREADSHEET
docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc
OP, there's a "<br>" on the url in the first post, removing it should fix the link.

Nice survey, you could actually pick always responses that fit your view. As someone who is slightly pro-ending(which means I do not hate it furiosly) that is rare!

Heh...what about people who find the Destroy ending as abhorrent as some find Control or Synthesis? Equal treatment for all endings, please!
(Note: I want them all to stay in. I'd never take away another's preferred choice, and I despise people who would)

Done. Another fantastic poll.
Now with Bioware working on EC we can only hope they have listened to us.

Done. Thanks for the effort.
I really hope this shows BioWare what we really want. I am also glad to see the frequent requests about ME2-romances (Miranda and Jack) made an appearance.

Nice survey, I hope the number of times I said I really want a happy ending for the characters got through to someone.

Just saw the answers, got to love how people who complain about how choices should matter and be respected want to take away the choice of players who picked synthesis, just lol to that.
Anyway, great survey, nice and non bias, and I got to say that I enjoyed taking it.

I forgot about the last one. (All I remember is that somebody wrote a thesis on one of the "write your own" responses and turned one row of the spreadsheet into a whole page.)
Took this one. I would have preferred a 1-10 scale, but I can make do with 1-5.
For reference, I would rate the game prior to ordering the fleets to Sol as a 7/10 (possibly 6.5, but the ending skews everything), Priority: Earth as a 2.5/10 (the mission itself is maybe a 4 or 5, but the ending is at most a 2), and the game overall as a 6/10. If the ending wasn't so bad, I could definitely see it at 8/10 (which is how I'd probably rate ME2). On this scale, my answer was 4/5, 2/5, 3/5, respectively, which I don't think truly represents how bad I find the ending (but I couldn't score the whole of Priority: Earth a 1/5, even though it's the worst mission in the trilogy).

I decided to copy my "other ideas" notes to see if you guys like them. This was off the top of my head: If the ending cannot be changed, can only be expanded upon, and only through cut-scenes. Wrote it up in ~20 minutes.
______
If the endings remain as they are, the Star Child room should not be the final part of the game. Picking one of those three choices should initiate an entirely different branch of the story to end the game, rather than the, "Congratulations, you've reached the end. Pick a color," route. Those branches should be affected by choices in previous games and each one should be at least slightly different based on player choice.
For example: (And all of this could possibly be done with just cut-scenes)
Control ending: Shepard is sent through a small conduit into the heart of Harbinger. There he must fight off reaper forces and indoctrination, and with the Star Child's guidance, to reach the point where he grabs the two blue conductors and absorbs his essence into Harbinger, giving him control over the reaper leader. Suddenly, Reaper forces cease their attacks. Hackket orders a full on assault, but suddenly the reaper foot-soldiers wither and die. Reaper ships retreat and return to dark space through the citadel relay. Shepard/Harbinger may issue some sort of statement to the organic races before leaving through the relay itself.
Synthesis Ending: Shepard must travel inside the crucible where he must make his way past former allies inside who think he is indoctrinated. He reaches a console, talks to his LI or other squad mate to explain what he is about to do. Regardless of their opinion, it is too late to go back as the Crucible is under attack. Shepard attaches himself to the crucible's core to initiate the synthesis pulse. The pulse travels through the Mass Relay network and genetically rewrites all forms of life, but since the energy was not destructive, the Relays remain intact. Having no more reason to harvest organic species at the current time, the Reapers leave via the Citadel Relay and return to dark space.
Destroy: Shepard initiates the destroy option, and begins a frantic escape attempt from the Citadel. Doing his best to fight off reaper forces who came in behind him, he reaches Anderson and drags him to the nearest turbo-lift. The Citadel VI, though damaged, tells Shepard there is only two escape crafts close enough to be reached before the pulse goes off. Shepard then as a 50% chance to select the working escape craft (it would be random each time playing).
-If Shepard reaches a working escape craft, he straps Anderson in and begins his departure as the pulse activates. In the resulting explosion, the shuttle is damaged and crashes on Earth.
-If Shepard reaches the non-functional escape craft, he realizes he does not have time to reach another. He contacts his LI or other squad mate to say his goodbyes. He closes his eyes as the pulse detonates the Citadel and kills him.
Epilogue:
Based on the choice made, this would include the funeral for Shepard, or Anderson if Shepard survived. Shepard should be reunited with his/her LI if they were in the final squad on Earth. After the funeral they reflect on what happened and a series of cut-scenes then shows the short and long term consequences of the choice. Because the Destroy ending is the only way for Shepard to survive, it should also involve EDI and the Geth dying. The Mass Relays should also be destroyed, but only in the Destroy ending (the price paid for ending the Reaper threat for good). The Destroy epilogue could also show the different races using the technology from dead reapers to build more efficient methods of FTL and returning home after a time, but with much sacrifice. The Control or Synthesis endings would show the resumption of intergalactic relations with the Relays, but with the knowledge that the Reapers are still out there. The Reapers intentions after their departure would be left unknown. The long term implications of Synthesis would be explained, or in Control the speculation of what a Shepard controlled Reaper fleet will do is touched upon (Will he come back? Is he looking out for us? Are we really safe? etc). Cut-scenes, different for each choice, would show the fate of important characters before wrapping up in the final scenes.
