Except we aren't at war with the Turians.

The turians already attacked us without any justification with the intent of turning humanity into a client race.
They might do it again. We need to be prepared. According to Mordin's dossier, the salarians always prepare for the eventuality of war with other species, not to mention...if I see any yahg attacking human colonies, I'll know who did it.

And Cerberus was, for all intents and purposes, at war with the galaxy in ME3.

Which means cerberus was anti-alien if they were at war with the galaxy.

No, but really, I don't agree with the OP on the genocide front, but I'm also not at all entirely convinced that curing the genophage is an intelligent choice. You can't just assume the krogan will marculously become more civilised due to the few (Eg. Wrex) that have displayed this capacity. Krogan are temperamental by nature. The risks of setting them loose on the galaxy outweigh the potential pros, seeing as you'd only be basing this exptectany of peace on a very short period with extremely circumstantial factors (the Reapers invading). There's little to suggest the krogan would not repeat past actions a few hundred, or thousand, years down the line.

I believe they deserve a chance, but not straight up curing the genophage based on a short period of co-operation.

The Council already does that. Replacing a turian, asari and salarian positive government with a human positive is not anti-alien, it is simply pro-human. There is nothing to suggest TIM was going to enslave the other species, for instance.

And a pro-human government would really benefit non-human species. Being pro something means you put that specific thing before anything else. And as such it becomes, indirectly, anti everything else in that category.

Just look at our history:

"Lebensraum" was a pro-German idea, which in its execution came at a great cost for other nations and people.

And as for Cerberus: I don´t really think they care much about neither alien nor human lives.

those pictures are actually a reason to cure the genophage. If they haven't learned anything, then they'll just end up nuking themselves again.

If you believe that the Krogans are less then sentient and all should die, then the BioWare writers have failed in their intent.

http://blog.bioware....olus/#more-4468

There was no suggestion that the Krogans pose a threat to humans, their war was pre-human exploration.

I'd do anything possible.

First, I'd just pick up a gun and shoot every Krogan I see dead on sight. Then, after the inevitable success of that plan, I would infiltrate a military installation with nothing but my hand-to-hand and stealth skills, incapacitating, but not killing any humans to hijack a heavy aircraft. Then I would rain down hellfire on grumpy Krogan grandmothers.

Lastly,(this plan would take the longest as the first two would simply be for my personal enjoyment), I would go underground  and devote 20 years of my life to creating a supervirus with a 99% rate of mortality which only targets Krogan but is airborne and can be transmitted by all life forms.
And that would be that.

Wasn't sure if trolling or not but I stopped caring when I read this post. I could not stop laughing. Gold, pure gold.

Then let them nuke themselves. On Tuchanka. All alone. Not out in the galatic community where they can't be trusted.

Hell, they'd even be doing my work for me.

The point was to improve the lives of humans. Thus, it is pro-human. They didn't attack the STG base because all krogan deserve to die or some similar belief.
They did it because they wanted to weaken the war effort against the future servants of humanity, the Reapers.

Pro does means they will place humans over aliens. But the current government already does the contrary, places aliens over humans but humanity is still, mostly, a sovereign people.
I don't see why you believe a pro-human government would be more opressive than the current pro-alien one.

Personaly, I would simply decrease the number of eggs a fertile female krogan can produce. 1 or 2 like most species.
No more stillborns could lead towards a change in the krogan mentality which could lead towards a positive change in their culture while keeping their population at a manageable number.

They shouldn't even be on the verge of extinction. They should just be simply extinct. As soon as they outlived their use, they should have been pushed back to Tuchanka, and the Council races should have rained nuclear hellfire on every last Krogan man, woman, and child. Tuchanka should have been made a nuclear wasteland, uninhabitable for the next 10,000 years. Every aspect of life on that planet exterminated. A few hundred krogan should have been removed from the planet as test subjects, and to serve as warnings against the rest of the savage creatures of the galaxy. The history of the krogan people should have been wiped from every text, from every database. The name Krogan should have been transformed into a synonym for savage. No one should even be allowed to say the word Tuchanka without the punishment of death!

All nations compete for power. In the ME universe, nations equal races.
Promoting political measures that will improve the quality of life of humans does not mean we are going to decrease the quality of life of turians. But we need to stay competitive, no species is going to give humanity anything out of the kindness of their hearts.

OP, what about the Krogan makes them so bad they should be exterminated? I agree that they aren't ready for the genophage...but where did this all-consuming hatred come from?

On a somewhat related note, what are your feelings on the Yahg?

The other species have been in contact with each other for several thousand years. While humanity has only known extraterrestial life for roughly 30 years. While I certaintly don´t think the turian, salarian and asari governments view other species such as the elcor or hanar as more or just as important as their own, they do however have alot more experience in dealing with other species´ needs and wants. Humanity has barely even gotten used to the thought of not being the sole intelligent species in the universe.

Oh you suspect they'll be able to nuke the galaxy? you're quite scared of the Krogan aren't you?

humans have been pretty barbaric themselves. maybe we should make a genophage for them too? (Cerberus)

salarians have been pretty barbaric themselves. maybe we should make a genophage for them too? (uplifting these violent species for these same violent characteristics they desire, also designing and renewing genophage)

turians have been pretty barbaric themselves. maybe we should make a genophage for them too? (deploying genophage, and also starting a war because humans tried to open a relay. there was no attempt at diplomacy)

quarians have been pretty barbaric themselves. maybe we should make a genophage for them too? (attempted genocide of the geth. starting a completely unnecessary war on the geth again)

batarians have been pretty barbaric themselves. maybe we should make a genophage for them too? (imperalist slavers)

asari have been pretty barbaric themselves. maybe we should make a genophage for them too? (hoarding important prothean relics, very harsh treatment of the Ardat Yakshi, who have a genetic condition, partially to keep it a secret.)

vorcha have been pretty barbaric themselves. maybe we should make a genophage for them too? (almost all of them are petty gangters)

yahg have been pretty barbaric themselves. maybe we should make a genophage for them too? [They massacred the Citadel delegation. Also, the only one we've encountered (outside the Salarian base) was the vicious Shadow Broker]

geth have been pretty barbaric themselves (siding with the reapers despite the implications for all the other races in the galaxy). maybe we should blow them up (since they have no genes)?

The difference is that none of those races individually are powerful enough to challenge the combined forces of the galaxy. Due to the speed of Krogan reproduction, along with all their other physical advantages, coupled with their biologically aggressive drives, they pose a greater threat to galactic stability because left unchecked, they could very well doom the galaxy.
