http://www.cinemable...s-80-42372.html EA isn't even hiding the fact that they take pleasure in ripping off the consumers.

All in all this was just them testing the waters, they'll more than likely scale it back to dragonage 2 levels and try again in 3 years.
Still, I thought more people would be pissed that preorder exclusives are never made available to people after a certain amount of time, that is a lot worse than having to pay for dlc on day 1.

Well ME2 was free with a new copy at least.(and no the ME3 collector edition wasn't "free" its probably where that ea guy is getting the extra 20 from)xsdob wrote...
Mass effect 2 had day 1 dlc, Dragon age 2 had day 1 dlc, so what exactly was different from those?

In return I'm not hiding the fact that I actively tell people not to buy any EA product.ThatGuy39 wrote...

EA likes money, they've never hid that. The guy who wrote this article is doing a terrible job of hiding his bias.
Yeah. It's not evil to be happy that your DLC sold. That's what pays to keep BioWare funded to continue to make kick-ass games. I swear, this new-age high school socialism crap is really starting to get annoying.

As much as I hate MineCraft. Markus Persson did tweet something to EA that made me grin.
"EA releases an 'indie bundle'? That's not how that works, EA. Stop attempting to ruin everything, you bunch of cynical bastards."
"Indies are saving gaming. EA is methodically destroying it,"

I'm pretty sure Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2 had Day 1 DLC that came free with new games.

I'll grant that the Javik felt a little too integral to the story to cut out just for a day-one download, but there was a lot of other stuff that justified my CE purchase. It wasn't a $20 DLC.

Wait, $20 day-one DLC? Is there somewhere I can get the artbook, comic, patch, soundtrack, and various in-game items not tied to Javik for free? This is news to me.

Yeah I'm not sure where they're getting $20 from.

There's a difference between having day 1 DLC, and having content THAT WAS ALREADY IN THE GAME being taken out and then sold as day 1 DLC. It would be like buying a car and then being told "Oh, the side mirrors? Yeah, they were on the car, but we took them off. But you can pay $500 to have them put back on"
1, your overreacting. and 2, while this may sound like an apologist respone, I don't care, I still get the content and it doesn't just vanish from exsistence like the collector or terminus assult armor for mass effect 2, or the AT-12 raider, or every other exclusive dlc that is gone and never released.

Exiled Prince DLC came free with pre-orders for a limited time. If you waited too long you had to pay.
From the Ashes is the first one I had to pay for Day 1.
