Ideally, they would have been out doing damage control on this one much earlier. But I guess you live and you learn. I know I kept hoping that there was some gimmick involved because I just couldn't believe that BioWare would allow themselves to release something that was so bad and obviously either unfinished or subpar as the ending of ME3.

Then when time marched on with no announcement of anything earth shaking and they seemed content to let the media destroy their fans as horrible, spoiled people for not understanding their righteious artistic vision ... I started to get angry and feel betrayed as a loyal customer. And that's a not a good place for a loyal customer to be.

So now I'm wondering what exactly they're playing at, and I have a revised opinion of their overall professionalism.

Weeks of silence. Then they say they're making the EC, but they're not going to change the ending. Then more weeks of silence.

Then they ask what our expectations are.

It reminds me of the ending.

The only thing I could think is that maybe he's gathering marketing data, so they better know how to manage expectations and how to best sell it when it arrives.

Talking about something that it isn't will only enrage people more. People are recording everything they are saying now. Where I come from you don't get a second chance like this most times.

In four or five months time the rabid fanbase will still be here howling for blood. Any scent of bull**** will whip everyone into a frenzy again. In sociology terms Bioware will have to bury the perpertual turd for now and hope it stops smelling.

I am utterly astounded by this news because it makes absolutely no sense to do it this way.

I'm going to make a new thread soon, to get you readay again, much like PAX.

Whatever is coming our way is going to be a big deal and I'd rather be prepared for it.

This is a bit comforting, even for a hopeless cynic like myself.

Thing is, I WANT to believe that the EC will make everything right again. There's just far too much disparity between the community as to what "right" actually entails.

Whatever comes, I just hope that we get a chance to either destroy or at the very least refute the Catalyst.

IMO, it seems that they are finalizing what will be in the EC, and making sure it roughly matches what most fans expect to be in there. They absolutely don't want a similar situation with what happened to the original ME3 ending, where what was actually there was wildly different than what fans expected/wanted.

A fair point.

I don't believe Mr. Priestley would take his time to troll that site and not expect to be reprimanded for it. Those are the people who want the most changed. If they can make some of them happy it will be a good thing.

Also, Mr Priestly is not a bad guy. I refuse to believe a man who likes penguins that much can be a bad person.

He has to remind people that they won't change things but will be adding certain things.......

If anything comes of it it's good at least. I think it's a bit late in the game for them to be seeking feedback, for desires or expectations, though. If the voice actors are all in there recording dialogue already, we know of at least 4 at the moment, it seems that the plan is fairly set. I do like to be reaffirmed that they are still listening to feedback though.

The EC is probably going to be a pretty defining moment for BioWare. It's either going to be brilliant, or horrible.
