But that's not why I want to see her again..........

I just wanted to have that chat Bioware didn't let me have in the first place.

I'll even take a silent acknowledgement Bioware.

Seriously.

Or just happy.......

I honestly think this is a thinly masked attemp at generating false hope to gain the attemtion of more people on HTL and here on BSN.

It's a cheap tactic to ensure that we're all hyped about it and download it, then they can come out and say that the DL numbers were high and that "Most everyone" liked the EC. That way they can play it off as a good move, and not a ****ty PR tactic.

No.

You see one mistake of this magnitude has already caused a massive outcry. I get the feeling that a great many of the most hurt fans will wait and see what is in it before they download at all.

You see in the end, the ones that garner the most praise for Bioware are not the critics but the fans who have been with them for over ten years.......people like me. My word means more than anything that Colin Moriarty will ever do (although I'm fairly certain my own writings on films have reached a more varied audience).

Lol I am just joking with you. Good points and we can only hope. I personally am not concerned by anything any of them have to say. I will reserve my final judgement until after I personally play the EC. I expect them to deliver and speak through actions. As I for one consider their words hollow and meaningless... Especially Chris...

I mean that only to throw poo at people like Moriarty.

I have been published in the MUBI.com newsletter which has well over ten thousand members.

I also received a letter from someone in Africa who enjoyed a review I wrote about one of the most controversial films to ever come out of Japan.

Please Moriarty, tell how much you enjoy art.

So why don't they create a thread like that on their actual forums?
And try to actually engage us instead of letting us twirl about with twenty different threads on how green/blue/red sucks, how everything is IT and IT is everything.
They haven't said anything in their pinned topics for weeks...

sigh

They have a feedback thread on this board already.

Going directly to the Hold The Line forum is a smart thing to do, that forum is for people who want a new ending, and is full of people who want a new ending.

If he asks here, there will be all kinds of biased responses and trolling, flaming and insults because no one agrees with each other.

What I mean to say is that he has no more precedence to say anything about art than anyone else. Being a member of the IGN staff means nothing to me. It does not give him a mastery over art.

My article was linked in the MUBI newsletter celebrating the life of one the greatest filmmakes who ever lived, Theodoros Angelopoulos. I don't hold that over anyone though as Moriarty seems to do with his writing.

But seriously if he ever wants to have an art debate he can call me.

I just sit here in amazement.

A friend messaged me and said it sounded Clintonian in nature. It does.

It's absolutely amazing.

Awe inspiring.

That's why I said it looks like a way to better manage expectations when they do press for it.

He's not asking for your input on the extended cut. He's asking what you expect the extended cut is going to bring (not what you want it to bring).

So if everybody responds "I expect the Normandy to not abandon Earth and the fight for the galaxy and leave Shepard to die alone inside some stupid kid's home", they know better how to message the fact that the Normandy is still going to flee the battle and crash on some nameless jungle planet and eat each other before starving to death (now they know it's something they'll have to try to prepare people for and smooth it over).

I apologize for not getting that inference. You make a fair point. I would highlight certain aspects such as whether or not the Normandy crew will ever make it home or if Shepard will ever see his loved ones again.

Interesting........

I wonder if he's testing the waters for something logistical regarding the EC, rather than story-related. As in "What if you had to play MP to unlock the EC?" or "What if you only get the EC on an NG+ play through?"

It's just the only way I could make sense of it. I didn't think that was what he was doing, but like I said, the question seems to be utterly pointless.

He quotes the passive-aggressive press release and says that he's not there to tell you anything about the extended cut or that he has any input on the extended cut, and then asks what you expect to see.

If it's not going to be there, even if everybody expects it, and you're not even going to tell anybody that it won't be there, then what is the purpose of the question?

Maybe he's trying to get a sense beforehand of whether the extended cut is going to bomb as much as he expects it to, so he'll know if the community has to go into lockdown when it comes out.

Mike seems to have really thin skin.

Both times he stormed off didn't really seem like he was getting attacked or was being unreasonably challenged.

He's not paid to deal with our bulls*** on a daily basis. That is the job of a community manager like Chris. Anytime that a dev like Mr. Gamble comes on the forum, we need to be polite as we can because that's when we could get real answers, but some d***head always has to ruin it for everyone by being rude.

- What puzzles me is that they even need to ask at all at this point. Those that were unhappy/pissed/confused at the endings have made their opinions known on what is wrong, and what they would like to see changed or added.

It's going to bomb with the people who are most upset. Miss Merizan made a very good point to me personally on Twittter the other day. People have already decided to be unhappy. Quite a few people will never forgive Bioware for this.

I don't think Mr. Priestly would go on said forum just to make an estimate on how it would bomb though. He would go there and see what they could do to try and please some of the more..........disinfranchised fans. I've stated it before and I'll state it again, what I think they'll try and do is cast out as large a net as they can and bring as many people back to them with it. That would be the smartest marketing choice.
