Just as the topic says I am thinking of trying the DA series ... Is it worth it? I'm looking for multiple opinions
Should I play DA?

Yes. As long as you like medieval fantasy. The games are cheap on the internet. If you're clever you can find both games for under 40 bucks. Just go for the ultimate edition of Origins.

Indeed. Grab the Ultimate Edition for DA:O, its worth every penny with all the DLC content and also the expansion pack included.
And, if you really and truly love DA:O after playing it... don't get DA2.

Dragon Age Origins, Ultimate Edition is worth every cent.
Play that first then decide if you want to play Dragon Age 2.
Its not as good as Origins, but it does have Anders....Mmmmm Anders.

Please don't pretend like telling someone not to buy DA2 if they loved DAO is like doing them a favor. I loved DAO, it is my favorite game and I loved DA2.

Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition is definitly a must buy, and Dragon Age 2 is a great game with a few flaws. You can get both for pretty cheap, and I definitely recommend them.

DA2 doesn't have shapeshifter and ranger, and shapeshifter and ranger in DAO suck. You should avoid both of them.

Go for it, I'm not hugely into medieval games in general so when I decided to play DA:O on a whim I wasn't expecting to like it, but I was hooked instantly! Hell I didn't think I'd be able to get into the Mass Effect games at first either but I love those too. For me I think it's just Bioware games in general, they have that winning formular that sucks me in everytime.

DA:O yes, if you like everything about it , then get the Baldur's Gate enhanced edition due sometime this summer. Chances are you may be somewhat disappointed with DA2.
If you like the setting and story, but dislike the tactical combat and/or silent PC, then get DA2.

Of course, both games are budget so compair and make your own mind up how good they are.

DAO is the bigger and better game but DA 2 is still enjoyable if you can overlook some of it's shortcomings.

No, play The Witcher, The Elder Scrolls or Dark Souls. Or Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
