I have the saber rank2, but have yet to encounter/unlock a single black widow, talon or wraith

I like it in the hands of my turian soldier, but do not use it in any other class.

The Saber is fun with the Turian Soldier but is really nothing special other than the great sound it makes.

I got this out of my very first spectre pack. I love the gun and use it often on my Turian. He does well in gold with it (when I am not kicked immediately).

Paladin is king of ultra rares. No doubt. Black widow is ok but man. Too heavy for the performance. Paladin does almost the same damage, with the same amount of shots and fire rate at HALF the weight.

That said, I've tried the Talon. I'd take the saber over it 9 out of 10 times.

The wraith is a good gun, but it's not great for an ultra rare. I primarily go for headshots so I maintain the saber and the paladin are good guns. The saber isn't as good as it should be, but it gets the job done.

But the talon is a nice little weapon. It's quicker than my graal x, which is pure murderous destruction on anything at any range (if you have the time to charge it). But the talon has four shots at full power, in quick succession. Close range you can kick out a LOT of damage on a brute or banshee fast. (I just did reapers solo, bronze, hydra with my batarian soldier)

Will I take the talon over the graal for shotgunning in the future? I don't know. It's given me a lot to think about. There were times it shone amazingly, and times when the paladin or saber would have outperformed it by a large margin.

I still think the black widow is massively overrated, but I know what it can do. I would rather unlock the valiant. I'll take the Valiant instead of the N7 guns I have gotten, the useless crusader, and the hurricane (which is surprisingly effective after recent buffs, but still needs a turian soldier)

Other than sounding amazing it's not all that useful. A Carnifex at VI+ does equivalent damage and is much lighter with a better rate of fire.

Couple months from now i'm expecting to see alot of AJ's like myself running around with the Saber. I only play gold btw.

If you take off the scope and learn how to aim, its a monster mid to short range. esp if you spam reave and go with incendiary ammo.

(decrease AR weight by 30% and the extra 20 in weight rec'ed)

Gonna repeat what everyone else is saying...you're not missing much.

I'm N7 sub-200 and have a Saber II. Not that great an Assault Rifle, but you'll feel like a boss tearing through Bronze with it just because it sounds so satisfying firing a round from it.
Anyone who says otherwise is dirty liar.

The Talon seems to be getting better reviews than the Saber. . Lucky enough to have a Talon V111 (picked up 3 upgrades in 7 PSP packs last w/e - go figure !)). Works like a charm.

The Saber is amazing on a turian/human soldier. It gets even better if you're able to land consistent headshots. Geth infiltrator also does well with it, but you can say that about pretty much any gun with the GI.

A Carnifex X is still weaker than a Saber I.  I don't know where/why people think the Carnifex is better than the Saber.  The Paladin is more powerful but has to be reloaded twice to get the same number of shots off as one magazine of a base Saber (3 rounds vs 8 on Saber).  The recoil is entirely manageable if you care to learn to use powerful weapons (hint, don't use scope unless on a Turian or with stability mod/bonuses).  Know your stats before making false claims about your carni being so awesome: https://docs.google....bWc&output=html

I use the Saber on my Geth engi, but it is a little awkward at times. Also I seem to rarely get headshots with it, even when hosting and for sure smacking dem in head

Good reference guide. Forgot how awesome the Paladin was - even at level 1 it is amazing. . Magazine upgrade , scope and pistol mod with the relevant ammo . Will try again with my AA

I don't right click with the rev unless it's from cover or with Turian marksman activated.  I also used mattock until the rev was around lvl VI

The Saber is great! Especially with the scoped mod! It is like having a sniper with a clip of 8 bullets! Tried it out on the batarian solider today and loved it!

Most people don't know how to aim, or know how to deal with recoil is probably the main reason it gets a bad rep.

The saber is alright. It probably shines out the best on geth infiltrator or the turian soldier. It's effective RoF is a bit lower since it's usually best to let the crosshairs settle even though you can fire, or the accuracy suffers too much. Increased RoF might influence how fast the recoil settles, but I'm not sure.
