Are There People Who Actually Liked Edi as a Squadmate?

The general consensus I am getting from the BSN, is that EDI, as a squadmate, was a horrible idea. From my point of view I actually loved EDI as a squadmate. She was my second to Garrus and was on my squad for the last mission. EDI, as a squadmate gave me a more womanly and emotional side to synthetic schema, rather than Legion in ME2. Edi and the Geth are what made me stray away from the forced death of them in the destroy ending, and made me pick crappy ol' synthesis =/. If Shepard lived through the synthesis ending, and Edi was technically now half organic then I would definatelly romance her over Miranda or Jack =P.

So, for those of you who actually liked EDI as an addition to the team... Why?

I liked her as a character and as a squadmate choice, but I only ever used her twice, including the mandatory mission.

I used her a total of zero times, I don't think anyone wanted Ed as a sqaudmate ever and when I said it would be cool to give EDI a body, I meant like a hologram sorta thing.

Never used her. But it definitely didn't hurt the game.

EDI was pretty sweet, IMO. Part of it, I admit, was her character design, but as a character I wanted to talk to she was up there with Garrus and Liara.

I do think, though, that the whole "robot becoming more human" concept is a bit overdone at this point...

Edit: And I never used her "Miranda-esque" outfit, but that cameltoe is hilariously... rendered... How can her robot body even have that?!

I still don't see why Shepard brought the thing on board.

I think the EDI thing was fine it seems like something that would happen in ME universe and I thought she was a capable squadmate I like her with Garrus. Though they could have made her a bit more pessimistic/negative like she only behaves off of pure logic like AI would do.

I thought it was bizarre that EDI is suddenly a squadmate, and my Shep was an engineer so I really didn't have use for her or Tali XD.

She was OK as a squad mate but nothing extraordinary in terms of abilities. Given that Shep always had her linked to his/her armour's on board computer she was more valuable in evey mission even if she didn't accompany the squad. I think that another more battle ready mate would have been a better idea.

And personally, I belive the sexed up image of her just helped dumb down the game a bit.

I didn't care for having Edi on missions personally. Not my cup of tea. As a matter of fact I would say that I prefer the Squaddies in the other 2 games as a whole more though I loved having Ashley and Liara back.

I adored EDI as a squad mate, I didn't expect to, but I totally did.
She is honestly hilarious/adorable at some points.

I liked her and used her all the time. Seriously, as a squadie she's bad-ass. Combined with my sentinel and Liara, massive biotic and tech explosions.

Same here, only I used either james, garrus, tali, or javik when I brought her.

YES!!

And no, it has nothing to do with her appearance because I liked her as that blue orb, too!

Her demeanor changed! She appeared to be "Why so serious!" - even with her jokes previously; however, she really has been "examining human behavior." The most obvious trait being humor! All that time around Joker rubbed off on her.

Btw, "Most of it was Jeff's" is clearly nodding to ME2 when she found out what he had been "reading"

"I will adjust my satirical timng for better use!" And "Blabber-mouth! Oops!"

Even when she ruined Joker's joke and. tried to lightened the mood with an obviously bewildered Shepard.

As a squadmate, she wasn't "awesome", but not awful either. Since you do take her with you (Cerberus Base), she does work very well - not because she knows them like Garrus does calibrations - especially with an Engineer character and ironically a part of that level is flooded with Engineers. (Turrets with Armor? Child, please! Incenerate/Flamethower Turrets all day long! All the other enemies see this combo and very frequently!)

While I took her on more than just that one mission, I really liked "burning the house down!" The roof! The roof is on fire! Let the mfer burn!! The animations and screams, plus that SFX when you pull off a pyro (fire) combo kill!

She should have been an omni-tool program that you could load up to switch in tech powers that you could use.

Even with a body, it seems I don't ever take her off the ship. I like her well enough, but she's the last squadmate I ever want to use.

Same here. Even though my Shep was an engineer and didn't really need her skill set, I still used her quite a bit because I liked her personality and comments on missions.

I hated her. And I liked her in ME2, but in my opinion a little of her went a long way. I virtually never use her and having to take her along on the one mission is annoying, and includes one of my least favorite moments of the series when she gets catty if you don't thank her for opening the door.

Actually, I liked EDI as a squadmate. Believe it or not she had actual growth as a character as she was just starting to figure out who she was and what her place in the scheme of things was.

TIM had a few other uses for the body other than combat?

For me, she was useless. And anyway, she was a horrible idea. End of story. Kasumi back, damn it!
