I liked bringing her on missions.
Her powers compliment my Adept well, and if she's spec'd right she can be pretty beastly as a tank

Yeah I didn't know she was getting to be a squaddie so that was totally a pleasant surprse for me. Also her cloning power thing was really useful on some missions. Plus she has cool hair.

I didn't mind EDI as a squadmate, although I hardly used her at all after the first third of the game.

Also, although I like her personality, Legion did the "robot becoming more human" thing a lot better than she did. Nobody ever told EDI she had a soul, after all.
Ugh, had to make a new post instead of just editing my old one. Damn iPod.

I enjoyed her as a squadmate. Her and Javik were my fav squadmates to have on missions for my Infiltrator.

Yes I actually did and I used her with different members to see how all reactions happen. I do like getting the Decoy' power option to have two Shepard's and with EDI it's like having 2 decoys on the field lols

I liked her, and in a very distant 2nd place, I find her to be the best squad member gameplay-wise too. First place obviously being cheat mode Liara.

Overload was great for getting past shieldgate and she had some of the funniest lines on missions. I tended to take her and Garrus around until I got Tali (Energy Drain and Combat Drones were more useful than anything EDI had to offer).
Her weapon selection bothered me a bit, but on insanity your companions are only good for powers, I don't think they ever killed anything tougher than a swarmer in either of my two playthroughs. I also could have used a Biotic companion instead of another Tech companion (I didn't buy Javik). However, ever since ME2 had defenses block Biotics I've found Tech better than Biotics (anything without defenses dies too quickly (1S1K) to bother locking them down with Biotics and Tech is better at stripping defences than Biotics), so she probably was more useful than another Biotic companion.

I like EDI as a character but as a sqaudmate she was IMO useless. Wasted space on your squad.

I like EDI but as s squadmate? I don't know I never took her on missions, I always take Liara and Garrus with me and sometimes Javik, to let him see the Reapers die

My first thought was that I couldn't believe they made EDI a squad member.
But you know what? It worked out IMO. Atleast, it didn't detract at all from the game. In all my playthroughs I've probably used her in about 10 missions, which makes her my third least used character (Tali and Vega).

EDI was brilliant, I just wish they'd give her some bloody armor.

Didn't like her as a squadmate at all. Would've preferred her as EDI the AI rather than EDI the sexbot just so joker can hump something. BioWare should've added Wrex back in place of EDI, ahhh ME1 nostalgia.

I was happy with it. Used Tali for tech though, or Garrus.

I am a really demanding gamer and I like her very much.
1. She helps you a lot throughout whole 2nd game. Now she can do even more.
2. Partly because of 1st point, she fully deserves to have a life experience. She smart enough and willing to do it. Quarians created Geth, you took part in creation of EDI, nothing wrong with it, imo.

I liked her as a character - as a squad mate she was ok but didn't really do much for me.
Not to mention the dreadful armour choices.

It was super huge fanservice squadmate because Miranda and new Ash weren't enough.

I couldn't really use her powers well and I dislike her design.
While I don't oppose the general idea, I feel like it didn't add anything beyond the Joker relation.

I found her quite useful. Overload is great, and Incinerate's not too bad either.

I'm really not a big fan of robo-body EDI. I guess I just look at her and the Normandy as one. Her powers didn't complement my play style (Engineer usually with Garrus, I really don't need a third overload lol), and I would have preferred a Joker/Shep romance rather than Joker/EDI, but that is a completely different discussion.
I guess I just found it unnecessary.

The blatant oversexualisation of EDI's body is very effective as a commentary for what the Illusive Man was thinking when he designed the Eva Coré robot after an old flame of his. It's characterisation on his part. Only Ashley got needlessly fanservice'd, and in my opinion it made her less flattering, as her old look suited the Vasquez type who wouldn't get caught being soft and sentimental in public. (Coincidentally, she died on my playthrough on Virmire)
And the whole point with EDI's "becoming human" plot as compared to Legion's is that Legion does gain full sentience (if the right game path is taken) but is still geth. EDI explicitly identifies as a robot girl, shaping herself after humans. Not asari, quarians, or anyone else but humans. So Legion never starts becoming human. Somewhat more organic, perhaps - in a way that the ME1 codex even explains, but only EDI becomes more human. Also, roboshipping with Joker, and the dynamic they eventually gain. Hey! EDI can use that ****** to make someone happy for a change.
As a squadmate, she's just a better Mordin. Incinerate and Overload (which Neural Shock is a evo for in this game) plus new powers Decoy and Defence Matrix. And Mordin was cool. Plus, tech bursts and fire explosions.

No, there was no reason to have her be a squadmate and it's complete fanservice.
I'd much rather have had Wrex back.
