"starfish" tali came from this (well this is an edited picture but the center one is the same).

It's a 2D drawing and as far as I can tell it doesn't look like you can pull her face off. I think this is perfect. At least much better than the crap we got.

Now this, I can work with.

bingo, this is the exact same design as *starfish* tali. just less face peelage and more epicness. what do you think?

Much better epicness and much easier on the stomach and eyes, than starfish Tali.... As I said before it had to be the Ross Perot ears.

She has weird shaped ears(NOT ELF EARS) and weird shaped eyes, three fingers, different shaped legs, wide hips. that's more than the asari with them only having tentacle heads and a color difference.

I would have been happy if they ripped off Midna as she appears as a Twili in Zelda: Twilight Princes... Or even if they ripped off the Erudites in EverQuest 2. They look very alien and have iridescent glyphs all over their bodies

I think it is a bit of a nitpick to say Tali is too human because really that just came down to her face more or less. The only real criticism to her picture is that it seemed like a last minute thing. To be honest if that were the case they should have left it out and this Talimancer would be okay.

Considering that Bioware was too lazy to even either come up with their own design, or "borrow" the numerous wonderful designs fans and artists on the internet have made over the years, I am going to assume (for now) that her current appearance is not canon until the EC comes out. If they don't fix that than they're only proving that what little credibility they have left is shot to hell. Posted Image

Yeah...but Turians are birds and Quarians are mammals. Wouldn't that be a little weird if they looked really similar?

Although I agree, she should've looked a little more alien. Not because of their digestive systems, however.

NO! Turians are Turians. They are mammals. Educate yourself before you spew out garbage. Their features are based upon avian ones. They are not birds. it's not that hard to look up each race on the wiki. Do you not understand the concept of Alien?

masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Turian

The most distinguishing feature of turians is their metallic carapace,
which is a result of their evolution. Turian features are avian, making them resemble humanoid birds or raptors, however unlike most Earth avian creatures, turians are viviparous and give birth to live young.

Hey, no need to get snarky now. I made a mistake.

I don't care that she looks fairly human. I prefer that over the freakish fan arts like the various 'flesh mask' Tali's like the one posted at the top of page 10. I'm grateful she doesn't make my stomach churn, I think the photo was a cop out and that she should have had an in game model when 'she took her mask off' on her home planet.

Also, if we're really going to start whining about who is too human then you might as well extend it to Garrus, Liara and any other humanoid alien. They're all pretty unlikely, but it's just a story and if people were honest they are just complaining about Tali because she doesn't conform to 'their own vision' of what she should look like.

The one at the top of page 10 doesn't look bad at all. It's the 3-d rendered one that makes you wanna puke.

It's better than the other pic of that design, but still pretty creepy.  Though I do wish Tali looked a bit cuter than she did in the photo in game.  ME2 gave me the impression she was either in her late teens or early twenties (or the alien equivalent lol).

this actually IS starfish tali, just the one that keeps going around on the forums is a little too..."detailed" for some people. I guess that goes to show that a character can be misrepresented in a picture. I think same can be said for bioware's picture. yes it's total garbage there's no way around that, but would she look better in game than she does in the picture? well judging by how poor quality (the poorest) it is, I think it can only look better. Unless bioware wants to keep on trolling.

fix her face you tally whackers

Not a fan of the "Starfish" Tali, it's a mixture of the Salarian looking horns and the hard angles in the face. I prefer something softer, someone mentioned cute. This is the right word as it fits Tali's personality. Medium length brown hair, pale skin, purple colored eyes with bright white corneas. Soft facial features, but with a slightly aged looked, I mean Shepard has to be in his mid 30s at least.

Edit: I do feel that she should reflect her origonal surroundings. Rannoch looked like a desert oasis, with a few trees here and there. The starfish look is far too aquatic to really suit the world. Sothing a little more replitlan (I'm thinking more along the lines of Drell for scale look) mixed with a bit of flora influences. Might attempt something later along those lines.

She eats different food, she lives in a bubble suit. She should look more alien like. She should probably look closer to turian since they share digestive systems and have three digits.

We have practically the same digestive system as a shark, and practically all life on this planet is made using Levo amino acids - still plenty of variety.

There's no reason Quarians should look similar to Turians at all. They evolved on different planets.

Edit: She doesn't have to look terrible. I just want her to be less human than a few lines on her face and a white iris

I don't mind the look. She was never going to look appealing to everybody; it's what happens when you leave a character behind a mask so long. People pictured her perfectly, and she came out different.

Curiously enough, if you're a Talimancer, you'd think it would be incredibly hypocritical to suddenly judge the officially canon version after you told her it didn't matter what she looked like in ME2. Oh well.

She looks fine, and I'm a sucker for brunettes. BioWare chose wisely in that the picture won't cause any outrage beyond some of Tali's fanbase.

for the sake of artistic integrity *puts a quarter in the jar* quarians should look unique just like every other race, not a reskin of a human this isn't blizzard. Just my opinion I can't change bioware's mind if they're set on reskin

I would have like something like this:

Or

http://www.gameranx....ali-concept.jpg

And still, i think there shall be far more different that human(the faces) but still enough human to be attractive, since i truly think we have enough with the Asari, having one species so similar like the Asari i have no problem, two i think is too much.

I like fanart, but that's just to much robot for my liking. For me Tali is: white pale skin (like a vampire) glowing eyes, and black curly hair. I don't know why, but that's how imagined her since the first game.

I always pictures pale skin, short cropped hair(It's a suit, hair would have to be short), glowing eyes(purple iris). And for some reason, the hair would be black. A few differences from humans, obviously, perhaps something elvish looking.

Don't know why, but I always pictured her with a very similar facial structure to female Blood Elves from WoW...

They are more unique than Asari's, they are just "bald" female human model with blue skin. :pinched:
