 Do you think, down the line, they'll recieve unique scenarios or they'll be treated identical to the solo-monarch? Debating if I should import my King Cousland I'm worried with him disappearing, it'll essentially mean absolutely nothing and I doubt they'd give unique consequences to one potential origin's choice.

I doubt we'll ever hear much of anything about any of the Wardens.

I doubt it, considering they already downplayed monarch-Cousland (naming him prince-consort etc). Presumably they did this to limit the options in sequels (i.e. Anora/Alistair is always the one being spoken of as the monarch and making appearances). We already saw this happening in Awakening and DA2.

They might work around it by making Fergus king after the Theirin bloodline dies out, or they lack any acknowledged bastards with a solid claim.

I hope so. At least have any future appearances (if there are any) of Alistair/Anora showing them upset or determined to find Cousland. Alistair at least would definitely go in search of the Queen.
I like the idea of Fergus or any of his heirs taking the throne if both monarchs go missing.

I think people would be talking if a monarch disappeared, regardless of what nation they were from so hopefully we will hear background characters gossiping about them or speculating.

The only referred to cousland as prince/princess consort in origins and awakening.In Dragon age 2 he/she is referred to solely as king/queen. I do however wonder how this plays out with king couslands who went through the eluvian with morrigan tho...will they still retain their title once they return?

@CrimsonZephyr: Interesting idea, Crimson! Fergus on the throne would certainly be interesting and be... different.

@Emzamination: The Warden is solely Queen-Consort / Prince-Consort (Just use Queen / King because it's simpler ;P) in terms of the political scene, despite the terminology used by Origins (which is rather unclear, Landsmeet says one thing then epilogue says another, ect).

And possibly the title would be retained, assuming Alistair / Anora would hand it back over. Nobles are picky, though ultimately it's the King / Queen's decision about who rules on their side. Just like how Cailan was about to abandon his Queen-Consort to marry Empress Celene.

If Anora took back cousland after he left to help his maleficar lover raise their normal/god spawn child for over a decade without so much as a goodbye, I must say I'd be in jaw to floor astonishment.

I always felt that my Queen Cousland was legitimate. I mean, the family would have been the logical back up to the royal family (considering Logaine was commoner blood elevated to title - as is Anora) - sure my Warden technically shouldn't hold title, but curiously that was one of the many "forgotten" things Duncan didn't bother to brief us on beforehand and had no time for after. So... yeah. I feel like double Warden monarchs could really work for the order, and if Ferguson remarries and had a kid we'd have the heir issue sewn up even if she and Alistair can't make it happen because of the taint. I mean, it's not ideal, but it's a lot better than letting Anora go sleeping around with someone to make a double bastard commoner king with Maric's crown. (I don't like her, sorry)

I always imagined my Queen Cousland confided in Fergus about the future heir being an issue. While venting about Alistair only bringing it up after you've announced your future consortdom.

Fergus marries a Ferelden girl (maybe that one you rescue in Awakenings) and their first born is declared the future heir.

But my headcanon will probably be thrown out the window when we get a civil war or something in a future game.

Of course there should be unique scenarios for that import, should the story call for it becoming relevent in any future story. Will BioWare make unique content based on that import choice though? I'm skeptical to say the least, considering they didn't even bring Anora into DA2.

But I'm guessing they'll simply make every Warden end up in the same spot no matter what- King/Queen of Ferelden or Orzammar, went in the Eluvian or stayed behind- they'll all end up in the same situation I'd guess.
