Not to say I like him but aside from the obvious murders he's committed why else do people hate Kai Leng? I thought myself that he was going to be quite a badass villian but in the game.....no. Just no.

He's built up as a "rival" for Shepard but fails pretty hard at it. Also the ridiculous characterization and plot armor.

Also, he's a dragon character. He's there to do what ever TIM wants. He never was to be a big a character, just a herdal.

I would have said because he is a Mary Sue and thus takes away player agency in any scene he is in (until his death scene).

What I find pretty hilarious is that apparently, humans were the only race to come up with the idea of ninja. Drell came pretty close but they seem to have stopped at "monk" and left the pretty crucial swords part out of it.

I mean, the moment the galaxy came up with shields/barriers that can withstand gunfire but have trouble with monofilament pointy things, everybody should be busy learning kung-fu.

I never viewed him as a threat...
Not once I thought: "OMG, how am I going to stop him?"
Instead it was: "I'm going to run you through with my Omni Blade... Oh look, I did!"

Plus a Thane who was suffering from random dizziness spells, had trouble just breathing, and was supposed to have been dead six months prior to the Cerberus attack was able to stop him from fulfilling his objective. That or Kirrahe just standing there to take the shot.

On that note:

Since I haven't played as an infiltrator in the campaign, can Kai Leng see you in the final fight with him? if you use tactical cloak? I've heard of this but haven't tried an Infil run myself. If so, why does he fail to see Kirrahe standing 4 inches in front of him?

Bullets can instatly go through Kintic barriers just like that? Weren't you tring to do that to him for thepast 5 mins or more when he has a super barrier?

Based on my understanding, the purpose of kai leng was to give us someone to hate. I'd say mission accomplished based on that...
