I don't know a thing about DA 3 other than it will feature a voiced protagonist, since Bioware is addicted to such things. That's already a negative, but I'm waiting for further details before I vow to not purchase it. I followed DA 2 until about two months before it's release before realizing it was a huge pile of junk and worth the protest of a non-purchase. And that's after I got the collector's editions of DA:O and ME 2 so to pass on a game sequel after paying extra for the two previous games is a little rough. Something tells me hearing such things doesn't register with Bioware though.

To clarify: Teens actually doing the act, or having relationships, is not the same as wanting to see naked video game girls. That precious time just after puberty hits but before they've had a few successful relationships is when that material seems the most compelling.

I'm not confused, I think we're miscommunicating. What I'm basically saying is a 30 year old has a higher tolerance and want/need for erotic material than a 15 year old. I think all of the seemingly "gratuitous" sexual material in games are put there for the consumer, but it's mostly there because the guys making the game want it there.

I think the situation with Mass Effect 3 will preclude DA3 from having as big a back lash. Bioware has lost what was left of it's credibility with ME3 and it's reaction to the backlash. I think the more likely scenario is this. Dragon Age 3 is released. It's actually a really good game but it falters from a sales standpoint because of diminished fan interest.

I think Bioware needs at least two games releases in a row that considered exceptional quality by it's fan base. Only then do I think they'll have a chance at releasing a game that's a big commercial success. Even if that were to occur, there is a certain segment of their fan base that is just plain gone for good.

We're definately miscommunicating. But I think you sorely underestimate a 15 year old's interest/curiosity in gratuitious sexual material. Its probably even worse now in the age of easy internet access than it was in the past witha naughty magazine hidden under the bed.

Wheras I'd like to think an over 30 adult would be less interested in favor of the real thing. To be fair I'm also probably underestimating.

And going to get off this topic now lest it somehow become political. Stranger things have happened.

At risk of getting completely back on topic, I'm worried about things like this too. Hopefully it will be a fun extra that won't take away from the amount of content in the single player game.

I think it's a matter of learning how to manage better. If someone's libido dies off at their teens, then that's a medical problem and they should probably have themselves checked out. Most men and women are on upswings after their teens. It's not a matter of substituting real sex for erotic material, it's about who's got the higher sex drive, and I'm pretty sure a man in his 30's wants/needs more than a 15 year old.

Uh, maybe? Depends to what extent the feedback from DA2 is taken into account in the development of DA3. I -hope- they create something better, and I think it's looking very likely that they will, at least in terms of no recycled environments/respawning enemies/etc. Then again, the rumors that devs are being pulled from DA3 to work on SWTOR are disconcerting; it makes it seem like the former isn't a priority, in which case another rush job might occur :-(

Strange, you know....to cite a ME3 example.... I much prefer the scene where Fem Shep turns Kaidan's advances down... It's moving. He doesn't get upset & when Shep says "Don't go yet, stay a while...." , it's bittersweet & beautiful. Much better than any sex scene in any game I have ever seen. Including the Elven Garden scene....(Which is about as deep and romantic as a doorknob. Pretty though)

Look. In Bioware's games we have mushy, lovey dovey realtionships. Then, we grind in our underware. In CDPR games, we f*ck for the sake of it, and believe there needs to be no justification. Two different world views to be sure. 

I'm not sure you paid attention to all the hot women we coudln't f*ck in TW2, or the only she-elf you can, who gives you a guilt trip afterwards for engaging in reward sex..

And no a lot of generic women are pleasant looking, in Flotsam, Vergen and Loc Muinne.

Are the important NPCs more distinct and better looking? Sure, but you would be fooling yourself if you say random woman in Denerim is as hot as Leliana or Morrigan.
