Basically what it says on the tin. I'm curious what you guys think about a DA MMO.
What would you think of an MMO set in the Dragon Age universe? Would you play it? Would you play it if it cost a monthly subscription fee?
...Alright, I guess I'll start.
I don't make a habit of MMOs. I love video games, but I am very, very bad at playing them, and it takes me a long time to get through even basic single-player campaigns, so paying for my game per month doesn't really appeal.
I love the Dragon Age world and lore and the characters who inhabit it, but if you asked me if I'd play an MMO (why yes I did ask me) I'd ask if the world really needs another fantasy-themed MMO.
If there was no subscription fee and the game got rave reviews, I might try it out after it came down to budget price. But mostly I'd be waiting for the next single-player game, so I can continue the Dragon Age story, which is what I'm actually interested in...
Ok, there's my opinion. How about you?
I wouldn't mind a DA MMO. It doesn't have to take over the SP games but if set in the Universe with a chance for us to have good NPC companions if we like as well I would jump on it. I would love it if it were free to play instead of a monthly fee provided that if they go the microtransaction route to make money they offer stuff worth buying. If not then monthly fee it is. The problem comes is if or when BioWare does this will it be their own game or jus them copying the old WOW format. I've never played WOW before but I did play LOTRO which copied their format. It was fun but after a while you get fed up with the grind (Kill X bandits here) and never being able to part in raids unless you have X gear that you can only get from doing other raids or threeman missions in X locations. If BioWare is willing to go against type and offer something innovative and exciting, I would buy it.
