We reached a sort of mid point now and I thought it was time to......prepare for the eventuality of the situation. The escapade with Mr. Priestly yesterday has cemented my resolve that people need to get ready, again. I cannot offer advice on what's happening now because I am not privvy to what's happening at the Bioware Offices.

Questions:

This is the real kick in the pants to me. The silence that has been shown since the announcment of the EC on April 5th has been nothing but disconcerting. An incredibly vague PR statement was created and then a great majority of the fanbase was left in the dark with nothing to grab hold of. I've come to the conslusion that the reason silence is reigning over us is because any real talk over the endings would be an admission of guilt. Alas the same is true with the silence that we have now. I can certainly understand not talking while you are in the pre-production stages but once a project begins to take shape certain things need to trickle down. Then we have things like this that trickle down and it only serves to make things worse.

I didn't ask what you want. I asked what you expect. There is a difference.

This type of questioning boggles my mind but I have already created a thread discussing this. My real mindscrew also comes from Mr. Priestly and was posted today.

 I respond poorly to demands.

There seems to be an assumption that people are demanding a great deal from the staff on Twitter and yet responses are still being generated. Why are you still responding? Why are you still talking to the people you don't want to change the game for? Wouldn't it be more prudent to simply NOT respond to said people? All it does is invoke rage and animosity towards you.

I get the feeling that a great deal of us simply want answers and as such Bioware has indeed screwed the perpetual pooch here. As an artist you are obligated to take questions. You do not have to give direct answers but you MUST accept criticism. If you cannot do that you have no right to claim artistry. The Cannes Film Festival does this explicitly because they KNOW that people will want to ask questions.

You have every right to ask why things are the way they are ladies and gentlemen.

The problem is, is that we have only received a sort of muddled response from everyone. This communication breakdown reveals a rather bizarre trend in how information is handeled to me. I ask one employee on thing and get a completely seperate response from another. Is information not being shared? Do you not expect people to notice that the stories do not add up? It's almost as if Bioware is scrambling to find answers themselves. I truly cannot fathom what is going on anymore because it makes no sense.

I know for a fact that movie producers will change endings based upon ONE bad screening and said theatre can contain only one hundred people. Those films cost, far, far more to make than games and are almost always hinged upon whether or not a test audience likes them. Sixty thousand people is more than enough for a sample size. I know Harvey Weinstein does what he does because I've seen him do it. Mr. Weinstein has changed films on far, far less terms.

You need to start asking more questions ladies and gentlemen. Silence, like a cancer, grows and should we not be ready for whatever happens a great number of us are going to be stuck in a rut again. Ask questions now and ask them without hesitation.

Why are the endings the way they are?

Why do you feel it has to be this way?

Did you expect us to enjoy whatever came out?

Did you expect we wouldn't want closure?

Who wrote "X" section(s)?

It's a bit like the Tantalus myth. Whenever the fanbase seeks to grab some nourishment, the water and food pull away from them. Bioware is more than capable of providing answers but have elected not to do so. What are you playing at?

Don't be so forlorn though, it's just the payoff
The rain before the storm.

They're watching... but they aren't listening.   Thousands of posts and reasons why and they still don't seem to get it.

Image IPB

All that effort and sacrifice to save the Galaxy and people Shepard loves is all for naught.  No matter the choice, we destroy it!  Shepard must pick a war crime to "win" the war and in so doing destroy everything he loves and fought for.

This is not victory, it is defeat.   Shepard doesn't go out like a hero but a war criminal.

We get the endings BW.  We care more about the ME Universe --and those who inhabit that virtual world-- than apparently you do.

Beautiful - so much of us have been focused on the "what", that we forget that the "why" is just as important.

If you ever find yourself in So Cal, good sir, I owe you a beer.

Oh and by the way.

I'm not going to the Cannes Film Festival this year because of this.

I'm missing the new Michael Haneke film.

I'm taking this very seriously.

Sometimes I get the feeling that BioWare still haven't decided how to handle the situation. Or even what to do with the Extended Cut.

I guess they're so used to the former "shut up and take my money" mentality amongst the fans that they just don't know how to handle criticism =)

Then they aren't paying attention.  It's not hard to see what is wrong with the ME3 endings and solutions are all these forums.

Ah!

I have a bit of a reputation for............typing too much OR too little.

People need to start asking questions of Bioware now.

I wish my heart would just let me give up Bioware for good.. But with this EC going on, it feels like constantly being pit between 2 opposing emotions: one is being HOPE that EC's going to be good and the other is FEAR that the EC will hurt me more.

I just can't get my head around what's going on here.

I mean, what do they think they're doing? This is by far the worst handled debacle I've seen in ages. Everytime I think they can't do something worse they prove me wrong. They screwed up, we pointed it out, they shut down completely, throwing out a free DLC to clarify things, but with a heavy layer of patronization and "Oh look at our 75 perfect scores."

It boggles the mind how badly they are handling this. Its like they're trying to sabotage their own company.

They're busy working on the free EC. We'll hear more about it when they have more to show. Many of the devs have been personally attacked and that's bad. It would wear anyone out. It's mid May. Can't we just be patient?

It doesn't make business sense.

Of course, if they were going to create new endings, it would be a full admission of guilt.

The EC is a half-way point.

I have been more than supportive of them in past threads.

I am also supportive of the community they have created.

I want the community to ask questions, the ones they have every right to ask.
