Bioware created something that part of the hardcore fanbase did not want.

And have suffered for it.

The root of the problem is right there.

Yup, and Hardcore entitlement has shown exactly why the game industry will always focus on the broader more casual players.

If it wasn't for the hardcore players, BioWare would have folded long ago. They were never mainstream, and the loyal fans were what made them as big as they are today. Crappign on us is pure contempt, and I hope, if the ending remains as terrible as it is, it costs the responsible party his career in gaming as an industry.

Herein lies the problem. All the information that has been coming out has conflicted with what others have said.

Patrick Weekes said that EDI can survive the Destroy ending, as the majority of writers came to that conclusion. I have no idea what to make of that. Michael Gamble has said that they can rework dialogue on the BSN itself. Nothing coming out of the offices really turns into anything cohesive and it's starting to get rather odd.

All I do know is that VA are in recording dialogue for the EC.

Did he?  I recall a distinct lack of EDI at the end of the Red ending.

For all we know, teh new VA is going to be variations of "Get us out of here, Joker!" "Look!  a rescue ship!"  "Good thing we packed a year's worth of dextro food or that would have sucked for Garrus and Tali" and "Shame what happened to EDI"

Sad but true. Im pretty sure that ME3 was the last true Mass Effect game we'll ever see. And it's even more sad that it had to end this way.
The next Mass Effect game we see will just have the label "Mass Effect" but it will probably be some RTS or MMO rubbish. Either that or a pure FPS shooter with much pew-pew and big explosions!

You missed that bit of information didn't you? The general consensus about her appearing was a big but Weekes said this to a fan who then recorded the chat. Weekes later confirmed this on Twitter.

As I stated before. All I know is that VO is being recorded.

Have I missed something or have they brought back just about every voice actor for the EC except Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale?

No, I have read somewhere on the net that they are or will be back in the studio for the EC too.  The bigger question is, will harbinger be back.

Yeah. I wonder who thought it was a good idea to more or less fire Harby from the game.

Ya know, Taboo-XX, there was a time where I felt you were a fairly reasonable person with some keen insights as to how production of entertainment worked.

But I have to ask you... why make this thread? Why are you trying to intentionally rouse and stir up even more anger and rage? What is the point to just making people even MORE angry than they already are?

It doesn't help that all you're doing now is stirring up controversy based on pure conjecture. What's the endgame here? Are you trying to convince us that the EC is going to suck? If so, got news for ya, the BSN as a whole reached THAT conclusion roughly 3 minutes after the EC was announced.

Do you think Bioware is putting out this EC as a big middle-finger to their fans? If so, just tell us why you think this rather than try to parse every single word that comes out of an employee's mouth and coyly say, "I know what's going on... but I don't wanna say it... until another thread later..."

In other words, if you've got a point to make, make it.

So Hardcore fans are to blame for the constant use of Recycled plot cycles, ten years of sub-par DND joke spinoffs, and Eragon quality Sci-fi plots?

To prepare for a worst case scenario. That's it.

There is no reason for me to simply hype up something without also weighing in on the opposite.

This is the opposite.

One question I would like answered by BioWare is how at any point in production did the Normandy scene pass muster.

Are we expected to believe that no one, not writers, animators, testers, anybody thought for a moment that it didn't make sense?

Did Hudson, Gamble, and Walters honestly look at that scene and think "Yeah, that works"?

It won't affect Casey Hudson in the slightest. The person responsible at the end of the day gave you the entirety of the Mass Effect Series. One of the highest touted shooter RPGs ever. He can literally get a job with any development studio that he want's. ME was and is his baby and without Casey ME never would have existed. It's his brain child, his trustfund, his point of accalode on his resume.

Did he make a mistake with the ending, hell who knows at this point. The only answer that anyone can give to that is one of personal opinion.

But you can bet bottom dollar if Hudson walked he would be picked up from any other Dev Studio in a second. Honestly how much of ME3 is so abysmally bad for most people? It's always the same answer. Casey Hudson has one title that he can literally call his own.  And his first major mistake which if you look at the number of fail games in the indusrty, created a backlash that very few games have ever done.

EA will not let Casey Hudson go, Bioware will never let Casey Hudson go. You do not let asset's like Casey Hudson or anyone on the ME team go at whim.

An entirely plausible outcome.

A very poor choice they made there.

The Retake movement is NOT about wrestling creative control.  I see us as the 'tip of the spear', where the spear is ALL the fans that doesn't like the ending.  We're trying to be loud, focused, draw attention to the issue.

The ISSUE being that the fruit loop ending (pick a color) couldn't have been a worse way to end this illustrious serious.

Heaven forbid that this perception becomes an excuse to not change the ending.

You can use whatever nonsese you like to try and dress it up, but the fact is that the retake movement was about nothing more than trying to force bioware to make a new ending.

dude just let it go.

the last thing we need is another 2 months of people arguing

People are just going to argue regardless.  If Bioware makes a successful EC, people are going to complain about why it wasn't there in the first place.

It's like Carlin explaining why saving the Earth is a joke the way people complain about it at the point of people complaining about personally being inconvienanced by something, and not actually wanting to help others.

im just saying the arguing and fighting needs to stop and it takes 2 to fight

convorsation is one thing and even a dissagreement but both sides have a tendancie to push a few buttons

The buttons have already been pushed. Nothing I can say or do will change that.

I can offer a worst case scenario though. One that you need to be aware of.

This is the other side of the development process.

Doesn't matter what phase or number in a series it is, look at its results.
