You know. I read that and started laughing uncontrollable about the whole situation.
It is quite inconceivable when you think about it. Did someone honestly look at the script for the ending and thought "yeah, that works"? You just have to laught about the mere thought of it.
I simply cannot fathom how someone can say that with a straight face. I refuse to believe it. There must be something else going on behind the scenes that we do not yet know about. Something BioWare have planned all along. Long before the EC was planned. Maybe that is why they say they cannot change anything in the EC. Becuase they have had something else planned all along? Or is it just me putting to much faith in BioWare? Maybe they really did loose all ties to reality in the final stages of production? Does hubris sneak up on you like that?
It's sad too, because not having the Normandy crash scene, you take away a lot of the angst that people have about the ending. Knowing your crew didn't abandon you in the middle of the biggest moment in history to get back to nature on some random planet.
I've liked to believe that BioWare has had some master plan all along too. After 10 weeks of crazyness surrounding the ending, EA's stock slipping, death threats and the like, they haven't hinted with more than a few vague twitter posts that could be interpreted in many different ways that that's what's going on.
What i'm most worried about honestly is that by the time EC is released i'll finally be over the ending only to maybe be disappointed all over again. Hope that doesn't happen though, as I mentioned in Taboo's other post yesterday, the EC is going to be a defining moment for BioWare. They'll either make video game history or fall short again like they did with the ending.
