Why are the implications so severe? I figure if the EC stinks, we're no worse off than we are right now. Is there something you're not telling us? Seriously, I have no idea how the film or games industry runs, any insight would be helpful;)
I'm intentionally not telling you something because I fear the outcry that it would cause.
Go on and tell us. I don't think it can get much worse anyway

They're watching... but they aren't listening. Thousands of posts and reasons why and they still don't seem to get it.
All that effort and sacrifice to save the Galaxy and people Shepard loves is all for naught. No matter the choice, we destroy it! Shepard must pick a war crime to "win" the war and in so doing destroy everything he loves and fought for.
This is not victory, it is defeat. Shepard doesn't go out like a hero but a war criminal.
We get the endings BW. We care more about the ME Universe --and those who inhabit that virtual world-- than apparently you do.
With this now I can enjoy ME3 endings

I have just one question. I want the people who wrote the ending to explain what they were trying to say when they were writing the ending. What were they trying to say by the three options and by limiting the options to these three? What is the message here? Because I honestly don't understand it. And I keep asking whenever the topic comes up and so far it seems neither does anybody else.
I too have the same questions.
There's a part of me who thinks they want to punish us for liking such a violent game. Therefore because we got to the end over a big pile of bodies, we don't get to win. We get to go out like big criminal.

The Cannes film festival allows this and they are far, far better artists.

Then I have no reason to further invest in their company anymore.
However, if an open dialogue is maintained between customer/company, and honesty is allowed (for BOTH parties), both of us will benefit.
Broken trust is the hardest thing to repair.

From Merizan's tweets, she says she can't talk about the ending until an unspecified date. Now this definitly sounds like a PR hush order to me. Weird because I don't think this is sustainable for very long.
Gamble's "expect" tweet is a bit maddening. The problem is that expect has 2 meanings: What one requires, or what one really thinks will happen. Which one is it???
I can not express my expectations in 140 characters. Maybe a link to a post...

No artist is required to explain or apologize for their work, they can, but saying you can't be considered an artist if you don't is rediculous.Taboo-XX wrote...

You can do better than that: Fill in this survey,

Then tweet the results

140 characters: easy peasy.

Were you at the Cannes film festival for the Lars von Trier Antichrist debacle? Were you there for the madness that that caused? Do you have ANY idea what the ramifications of von Trier saying "I don't have to explain anything to you" were?
The artist has a responsibility. THAT is why they have these Q and A screenings. They exist for the SOLE purpose of allowing people to ask questions.
People are always entitled to ask.

Who thought that handling of ME3 was good, who looked at the previous 2 game and said "Well, it's worked this far, but what if we change it completely and railroad everyone into the same story and same ending."
Seriously, who takes a recipe that consumers are literally crazy about, literally throw money at the company that creates it, and just does an about face...???

Absolutely.
Any time other than that would be disastrous.

They're busy working on the free EC. We'll hear more about it when they have more to show. Many of the devs have been personally attacked and that's bad. It would wear anyone out. It's mid May. Can't we just be patient?
I have been more than supportive of them in past threads.
I am also supportive of the community they have created.
I want the community to ask questions, the ones they have every right to ask.
The problem with that is your asking an annonomous community, to be civil and ask questions that they will answer. There will always be people who will take advantage of this and be uncivil or unruly to them when they answer. The second issue is making sure what you mean is put through with the words you say. I have seen some thing people question here and it feels very hostile and demanding, which will get no where.
I commend you on this, cause people have asked question and they did get answers (seeing some history of threads around). Still it is in fully recluse mode probally from EA telling them to shut it and get it done. I am not sure, but questions that you have brought out should be answered and help the audiance understand what they were trying to convey.

I respond poorly to demands.
I respond poorly to being lied to when I pay in full for a product well before its release. And sine we are paying, the right to make certain demands is inherent. This is the nature of commissioned art. Unless ME3 isn't art, but then there is no artistic vision to stand by or integrity to uphold. Well done, Mr. Gamble. You've shot yourself in the foot again.
I don't want clarification of the events of the game anymore. I want BioWare to explain their thought processes in writing the abortion of a narrative that is ME3.

I guess they're so used to the former "shut up and take my money" mentality amongst the fans that they just don't know how to handle criticism =)
Except when we acted like that, they tended to be competent in what they did. ME3's ending shows a total lack of skill in writing and understanding in basic narrative structure. And when the biggest senior-level team change btween ME1&2 and ME3 was the departure of Drew, I can;t help but feel that Casey and Mac have no idea what they are doing.
Atakuma wrote...
This is pretty much exclusively a problem of the ME team. The DA devs have been very good at dialoguing with the fanbase despite all of the flack they get. The ME folks on the other hand seem to be completely unwilling or unable to do the same, which is unfortunate.
Who is the head of the ME team? Who made statements before the relase of ME1 that sounds like he has no understanding of the sci-fi genre or games in general? Who has been accused of writing the ending by himself in a closet? I don't think it's the "team".
Kunari801 wrote...
That's why I can't get behind the IT. They'd have to make a paid-for ME4 or a "part 2" of ME3. Not that I'd mind, I'd love more adventures with Shepard and crew, but, I can't believe that's what they had in mind.
Kunari, let me introduce you to Capcom.
