All those threads were filled with contempt and derision, but it wasn't coming from bioware. All they did was lock them down when they got outright nasty. I'm so sick of this rediculous mentality that those like you have. It's not enough to dislike something and voice your criticism, no, you have to act like your being victimized by the evil bioware.xxskyshadowxx wrote...

You know what. I'm done with this company. I'm sick and tired of them treating their fans with open contempt. They don't have to change their ending., I also don't have to buy any more of their products. When your company goes belly up I hope you remember why it happened, it was because you bit the hands that fed you.
They flat out lied to their consumers multiple times before the game came out, even mere weeks before it came out then treated their consumers with contempt and derision when those consumers called them on it. Mev's summary is not innacurate to their behavior.

I expect a way to SAVE the galaxy from the Reapers that doesn't destroy the Relays and Citadel
I expect for Control, Destroy, and Synthesis to be less repulsive then they are now via better explanations to their functions and outcomes. Higher EMS makes for better endings.
I WANT to avoid stabbing my allies in the back to Destroy the Reapers even if it means Shepard must die in their place
I WANT to be able tell the Reapers to GTFO of my galaxy and not have to die to do it

Not sure what the fuss is about then, based on that tweet from Chris.
Reading that thread, and the tweets and crap. All they are doing is basic double-speak in my opinion. They are just baiting us being obtuse to keep talking about it, speculating about it and keeping the media's eye on it. Cause they know they can make a killing if this works correctly.

What's wrong with giving people some hope that it will work correctly? Remove some of the ammunition from those who are very, very sceptical about the EC. Give some reason for the people who no longer like you to start liking you again instead of encouraging them to dislike you even further.Mylia Stenetch wrote...

The informal Patrick Weekes PAX interview quotes helps me sleep at night, at least a little.
Knowing that at least someone on the writing team understands our concerns.
Why do you think that? There's nothing admirable about being pig-headed. I've a lot more respect for people who admit their mistakes, or are at least able to offer a good enough explanation as to what they were doing that I can at least respectfully disagree.Atakuma wrote...
It's rather sad to see how Bioware standing by their work is somehow seen as them being either delusional, or arrogant.

I HAVE seen this before.
But I can't be certain until the EC is released.
Concerning Priestly's question, I'm beginning to come to the conclusion that it's PR prep for post-release of the EC. The ME team wants to get all of their ducks in a row, this time.
They've had two months to get a clear image of what people "want." I believe the final draft has been penned, VA's have been recorded, and now they're working on polishing the content and implementing it into the game. We'll probably get an ETA come E3.
OP, your fears aren't unfounded. While I still don't understand the latent fear you're harboring, I'm going to hold onto my fool's hope that the ME devs genuinely care about fan feedback, the EC will be some kind of reflection of that, and that the current ending was a tragic mistake originating from a fast-approaching deadline and an unchecked Hudson.
That's all I can really do at this point... I'm getting tired of voicing my criticisms to a brick wall.

They're watching... but they aren't listening. Thousands of posts and reasons why and they still don't seem to get it.
All that effort and sacrifice to save the Galaxy and people Shepard loves is all for naught. No matter the choice, we destroy it! Shepard must pick a war crime to "win" the war and in so doing destroy everything he loves and fought for.
This is not victory, it is defeat. Shepard doesn't go out like a hero but a war criminal.
We get the endings BW. We care more about the ME Universe --and those who inhabit that virtual world-- than apparently you do.
You misunderstand me. I am in no way defending EA's business model, I hate that. What I'm arguing against is the idea that bioware has some vendetta against it's audience, when that's just not true. Aside from a few snippy comments by chris priestly which people overreact too, Bioware has been very polite during this whole debacle. It annoys me how some people cannot just dislike something without the need to create an imaginary villian to fight.frylock23 wrote...
Oh, please! Get a grip. My husband makes a damn good living thanks to Big Pharma. I'm the last person who's going to go off the deep end on evil corporations. I love capitalism. It's done all right by me and mine.
However, that being said, there are companies who do put into place business practices that can hurt their consumers if their consumers aren't wary or don't do due diligence when they hop on board. I think EA is one of those companies whose business model is one of short term gain at the expense of long-term customer satisfaction.
When EA bought BioWare, BioWare was a smaller development house who was making a name on a niche market of RPGs. As such, they depended on long-term business models because RPGs take longer to develop, and because the market is a more niche market, they also needed to cultivate their fan base carefully meaning that long-term customer satisfaction was key.
EA has shifted BioWare's culture and their business model by speeding up their development cycle and we have all been caught in the change which hasn't been pretty. DA2 was the first casualty. Arguably, ME3 was the second with catastrophic results. EA hasn't yet learned that you cannot produce a good RPG in a short cycle, and EA demonstrably does not care overmuch about customer satisfaction because they don't need to cultivate long-term customer goodwill. If they lose a customer or two here or there, it doesn't matter. They have FIFA and Madden to pick up the slack. Again, we're being caught in this corporate culture shift.
I saw all this happen to another franchise that I loved a lot. I saw it circle slowly down the drain as EA got ahold of it and adapted it service them. What used to be a nice game turned into a mindless, soul-less drone with a cash store attached. I know others have their own stories to tell of other studios. We're just seeing the same thing happening here with BioWare.

Thanks, glad I'm not the only one. I know not everthing on the expect list will happen, but hopefully most of it and some of the wants will be in the EC.
If the Normandy must run away, let my LI find me in the rubble. Even with the B & G endings, let Shepard's body be found for a proper burial.
