Has anyone tried listening for stuff outside Normandy on the Citadel or w/e? Never know you may find something in the quieter areas like the Spectre Office and using the flycam? If you folks truly believe that this could do something with your IT it may not be just to do with the Normandy.

I'll check this later, but at the Citadel it's more common to hear lots of ambience sound and people talking, so it's difficult to difference it from Indoctrination things. Maybe in Udina's office there's something suspicious, or in Spectre Office as you said.

I know folks don't like the end but wow IT believers this is getting silly. Measuring sound frequencies etc...do you really think anyone would spend time hiding sounds in the background? This is a nice example of confirmation bias.

I agree, I mean seriously even if IT was true which is VERY slim it wouldnt matter, seeing that the EC DLC is just a extended CINEMATIC giving more clarification to us "whinning fans"!! Everybody here is acting like we are getting an extended 3 to 4 hour campaign to properly end the trillogy, where in the end its just probably gonna be a stupid 5 to 15 minute movie! Dont believe me; here is a small quote from Wiki:

"BioWare's co-founder and CEO Ray Muzyka later acknowledged feedback over the endings stating that the company planned to address them, with an announcement to be made in April 2012.[162][163] On April 5, 2012, BioWare announced they would be offering a free download to be released during the summer, which will expand the ending with a cinematic epilogue but not replace it."

Dont get me wrong, everything you DIE HARD fans are doing is awesome and all, but why do all this effort just to see if the cinematic is indeed THE IT??? Bioware screwed us GOOD! And took the easy way out by giving us one free MP DLC pack and a "artistic integrity" excuse as to why they gave us the ending they did and are covering their rears by giving us a 10 minute + cinematic in the process.

You do realise the citation for the assertion it's just a cinematic doesn't say it's just a cinematic.

http://blog.bioware....3-extended-cut/

by creating additional cinematics and epilogue scenes

I don't know what an epilogue scene is but they chose to distinguish it from a cinematic so it is presumably not a cinematic. This means there is more than cinematics in the extended cut.

Am I sure I'm right? No.

Is this common far more open to interpretation than you're implying? Yes.

This.
Besides, it took them 18 months to make ME3 - it sure as hell does not take them 3-4 months to make a few minutes of cinematic ;)

All valid points, but as far as I know a "cinematic" means cinematic or short movie of intrest, or cut scene ect ect... I dunno how else to say it, I just assumed they want to make sure the writing ties up with everything the fans brought up not to look like idiots again whent hey eventually release it :P

Yes that's a fine definition of cinematic but you are repeating the assertion that that is the only thing in the extended cut. That has never been said by any official bioware source.

re: Footsteps
There's also a guy that walks around on the CIC and Crew decks alternately. You can hear the doors on the Engineering deck open and close from the shuttle bay if you stand under where they would open if your Shepard was on the floor above.

If you can hear that, it means the floor exists in the same gamespace as the other. I think the footprints might be this guy walking around on the other floor. (How one cannot hear the music from the loft in the CIC, I don't know.)

BioWare has stated that the EC DLC will be more than cinematics though.

I'll try to find a source for you.

EDIT: http://www.videogame...tic_scenes.html

They don't tell what exactly there is besides the cinematic scenes, though. How about some choices that makes sense?

I really hope it's more than just an "extended ending and epilogue." Otherwise calling it Extended Cut is very misleading. Then again, Bioware seems to be good at that...

Lets hope it'll include some deleted content too (which definitely exists) and added cutscenes!

The Normandy will be always waiting for you. And you will return, you can't escape.

Ok, I played some more and could not hear the footstep sounds anywhere on captain's cabin on two separate saves. Then I took save from different Shepard just before Priority Earth mission, and there it was, clear as day. I could literally heard footsteps all the time near the radio.

I also went and listened some more on engine deck, and the engine does have some slight ominous background hum which gave me creeps. However, it didn't seem to be different from save to another. And ME 2 had some backgroud hum on engine as well. Not quite sure if it is different.

I also visited crew deck on ME 2 and it was filled with constant crew chatter, not silence and occassional laughter or other voices like in ME 3 (and you can hear the laughter from Engine deck in ME 3).

So going through the Omega-4 relay turned the Normandy into the Event Horizon.

Everytime I see this thread, I think of what "strange sounds" coming from the gun bay.

Come to think of it, Garrus and Tali are mysteriously absent...

You know what, all joking aside, this might be something.

I spent *ages* wandering around the Normandy and standing in specific areas last night listening for laughs or screams or, well, anything out of the ordinary.

I heard the footsteps of the guy patrolling space outside the captain's cabin but nothing else.

It's worth noting, in the save game I loaded everyone who can be dead is dead, there are no extranious people on board ship, I even told Ashley she'd be more use with Anderson than with me.

My empty ship was silent, no ambient sounds that seemed out of place.

Can anyone else confirm whether they hear these noises with no ship-mates beyond the bare minimum?

Hmm, someone should use a flycam to go up there from Deck 5 and thake a look.
