The footsteps by Shepards cabin are his/her own, they happen during idle animation, shifting feet.

I stand corrected, I just used flycam to try the source of the footsteps. will upload a vid asap.

Nice, I'm interested in this stuff, turns my sci-fi into a horror/psychological thriller.

Here you go, mystery solved www.youtube.com/watch

I feel like I just witnessed a Sasquatch sighting.

WHAT'RE YOU DOING MARCHING IN SPACE, YA DINGUS? YOU CAN'T EVEN BREATHE.

Definitely heard the voices. Just assumed I was hearing it through the decks. For example, the vestibule to the captain's quarters allows you to look down between decks. So I assumed sound could travel. I just thought it was the crew chatting elsewhere.

I did notice the weird humming sound you here in the cargo bay is absent if you're standing right next to the drive core. So, maybe it isn't engine hum?

I updated the op using some of the quotes with videos provided for laughter and other strange noises inside ship.

Dantexr3, Nylia, DJBare, thanks for the videos.

Hope you do not mind them being used in OP (in the event you do, reply here / message me and I take the quote away).

I just remembered that several times while playing Mass Effect 3 i would react to my parents calling and then when i asked them why they called they would claim not to have called. This is getting creepy!

Although I'm in love with reading this thread (on page 2, intend to read it all), and want more than anything for the IT to be true... I'm not yet convinced of this Haunted Normandy thing (which I also want to be true lol).

I checked the battery...that doesn't sound like insect wings at all. It sounds like wires fusing or short circuiting (unless you guys are hearing something different). None of the ambient sounds on the ship sound out of place to me. It just sounds like crew people laughing and moving around, they are there to make the ship feel more alive. The only reason some of them may sound creepy is because the sounds glitch out and play inappropriately at times, but I don't think Bioware is trying to send us a message with this stuff. I stood next to the memorial for a while... I heard people laughing, but no scream. I did hear some strange sound which kinda sounded like someone inhaling really quickly, but I don't know what to make of that.

I just recorded another creepy laugh in front of Javik's door! But it's too late here (2:30 a.m.) and I'll upload it tomorrow, I promise.

Ok, I uploaded it, but going to sleep now. You can hear a laugh between 00:22 and 00:23.

Speculate!

Humakt83; can you add this video to the OP? The laugh in this one can be heard better than in the previous vid.

Since it make no econimical sense to release an unfinished game

Yeah, pretty funny, huh?
First off, the fan reactions were very negativ about this. Sure, most of them will buy it, because they already spend money on the games, but I think Capcom and Co will loose many paying customers for their future products. In the end, the companies will loose money.
Second, all these ending DLCs were planned from the beginning. As far as we know, EC wasn´t planned and it is for free. So, what is the point to sell an unfinished game and then release the real ending over half a year later for free? The case of Mass Effect 3 is different then the Prince of Persia one.

BTW, I don´t see they Harley Quinns Revenge content as an ending DLC. Arkham City had an actual ending. Yes, a controversial one, but in a good way. I think it is more like an expansion of the story like LotSb and Arrival for ME2.

Edit: nvm
I just read, there was a Twitter post  that had confirmed EC was planned all along. I don´t know what to believe anymore. This is all so disturbing...

I'm no IT believer but this is indeed some weird stuff. Why put a walking model out of view in the Captain's cabin area like that?

I was reading an article just the other day about ghost stories in Red Dead Redemption. But those are actual visuals, footsteps appearing, figures in windows where no one is in the room, etc etc. these are purposeful things put into one location in the game, just because the game is just that huge and awesome. The same article wrote about the things you can find while just free roaming around the massive world of red dead... Such as coming across a woman crying next to her dead husbands body who then promptly blows her own brains out!

These ME3 ghosts in comparison just look like ambient noise, interpreted to be whatever you want and fit any theory you like. I think they are nothing more than ambient noise on a ship with a crew in it.

As for the people floating outside the Normandy, just looks like the result of a bug.

The tree in the crucible is the most compelling. The only explanation I have is that it may be a bug in relation to the following cut scenes, but...

All these things do come together quite nicely to give fans something further to wonder about and explore. I think way more solid proof of these being intentional inclusions, rather than just bugs or ambient noise is needed.

Any strange noises aboard the Normandy, I'd attribute to Garrus.

Whenever Shepard is not within line of sight, the Normandy's female crew are all over him.

nah thats only tali

Wow, I've got to give the 2 of them credit for endurance then. Although some of the noise seemed to come from med bay too. I wonder what Chakwas, Mordin and Eve are up to at these hours.

I've also heard rumours of Traynor stalking random female crew members, although no one came out to complain. Then last time I went down to hangar bay, Cortez and Vega were nowhere to be seen, but the Kodiak seemed to be vibrating rythmically. Probably an indoctrination device inside.

Bravo, you just made me choke on my coffee :pinched:

Come on, if this (and with "this" I mean all these details some of you guys dig up...) would be essential for the IT or whatever, then they have failed even more than with the normal endings, imo.

Having run around the Normandy with headphones on at full volume for a while- Who the **** is laughing at me?! I have no idea if this is a bug or intentional, but these people sound like they just did a boatload of shrooms!

Especially in the room where Garrus is, it's pretty extreme! KNOCK IT OUT, it's creepy!

For those who say that is normal to hear people laughing because it's the crew deck and they need to relax etc, there's also other places at the Normandy where creepy laughs can be heard, like the Engineering room and Javik's door. And I don't imagine Javik laughing alone.

And if Bioware didn't use that "ambiental sounds" in ME1 and ME2, where the Galaxy was still in "peace", why use it now in ME3 with the Reaper invasion? How can everyone suddenly laugh while everyone is dying? Also if you look at the crew members, they do not seem to be specially happy.

Holy ****! I wish more developers would put this stuff in their games! It shouldn't be that hard, just some extra touches for people who likes to search out every nook and cranny.
I for one LOVE a good ghost story in video games... :alien:

Has anyone tried listening for stuff outside Normandy on the Citadel or w/e? Never know you may find something in the quieter areas like the Spectre Office and using the flycam? If you folks truly believe that this could do something with your IT it may not be just to do with the Normandy.

lol this comes completely out of left field but all this discussion and theorisation reminds me of the old Stone Tower theory and the hidden message from and behind Zelda Majora's Mask, including the great discussions around it. (even if you don't believe the STT it it's still a great read) As if that game wasn't dark and mysterious enough.
